FOOTING & FOUNDATION DETAIL – AR356

Footing/Foundation Wall Detail – 10% of final grade

A crucial step when working on a project is to develop the wall sections and details. This information will aid in the proper
configuration of the walls for a project as well as proper placement. Several wall sections and details are developed for this purpose.

Typical details are at the foundation/base of exterior wall, roof/exterior wall intersection including the top of parapet (if using a low
slope roof), interior partition/floor intersection, interior partition/structure bearing point, and plan details at intersecting walls of
differing materials as well as any construction process needing clarification. Manufacturer’s details are acceptable provided the
manufacturer’s information, such as brand name, has been changed.

Wall sections are typically drawn to a scale factor of 1:20 (3/4” = 1’‐0”) or 1:25 (1/2” = 1’‐0”).
Details are drawn at 1:10(1 ½” = 1’‐0”), 1:5 (3” = 1’‐0”), and 1:1 (full size).
Note: Wall sections & details may be revised as the project changes or alternate materials are selected.

Wall sections and details are annotated with notes and dimensions.
