Personal Engineering Activity:

CE1.2

I attended the first meeting with project team where I had been ordered by the team leader to prepare
the specification list of the new equipmets . In this meeting I requested for distributing the task and
workload between the committee members in equal. This led later to steady progress for the project.
I started my work by preparing the project plan I used Gantt program to plan the project activities. I also
used Microsoft excel for preparing schedules such as specification list format ,tenders evaluation
format, meeting ments ,consolidated percentage format.
CE1.3

I back to TPO archive I went through all previous equipments tenders and bids also I refer to
engineering department library .I deeply studied the operator, workshop, spare parts .and maintenance
manual s to draw the required specifications . I visited the operation manger. I discussed with him the
future container staking plan in the terminal and the max capacity of imported and exported containers
I documented all this information in my log book and I took under tacking letter from him.

CE 1.4
I contact the civil engineering DEP . I took copy of yard drawings. I went in site survey I took photos for
the stacking area .i also took measurement for the distance between the container paths .in parallel was
browsing to the internet daily searching for information about equipments working in the same
conditions as our terminal .also I read the port magazine to check the latest technologies in port
handling equipment’s. I prepared the rough specification list and I had a meeting with technical manger
where I discussed with him the proposal list and I took his guides in account .i submitted the final
specification list with term of condition in the second meeting as required.

CE1.5

After the suppliers’ offers were received I participate in the meeting .i check each quotation individually
matching the supplier cover letter and annexes with the submittal I signed in each offer to approve that
it is completed. Then I reviewed all offers in depth i compared it to the required specifications list ,point
to point. I put weights for each specification then I converted the weights into percentages where the
full mark is 100% . I divided the equipments into two groups the group one was laden and group two
was empty .i had Prepared comparison sheet

CE1.6
I evaluated and validated offers with specification list and I identified the compliances and incompliance
also I found some points were not mentioned, and not fully covered. I contacted the supplier through
Email for clarifications regarding the previous points. I put my technical manager and team leader in c c.
after receiving the answers I discussed it with my technical manager. I perform statically analysis after
registering the weights and percentages for each specification for all offers I made a trade-off between
offers and depend on the results I arranged bids downwards from the first winner.
CE1.7
I attend the acceptance meeting where I present the bids report and explain the technical evidence for
acceptance and rejection criteria. After the supplier had been selected depending on the technical and
finance reports. i prepared a required spare parts bills of quantities for each group of equipments for
two years and compared it with the supplier recommended list after I revised it I delivered it to the
purchasing and storage DEP in order to check the part list and cost then I received order confirmation
from them I signed it and sent it back to them and as per spc procurement policy .

CE1.8
I used to take daily notes in my project log book based on it I prepared weekly progress and status
report . I present it in a Weekly meeting with the mechanical directorate and operation managers
showing the progress of work in detail data table, timeline analytics, suppliers replays emails and
selected report information. I prepared a folder contain all reports and technical documents related to
the project. I monthly send copy to the both of them so they kept updated in all project stages. In
addition to that I control all project documents such as. Supplier proposals .equipment specifications,
drawings and recorded video documents for all presentations

CE1.9
In phase two visited the manufacture in china i attended the FAT (factory acceptance test). I checked
the hydraulic scheme and the communications system and drawings l according to international
standards. Daily I was spending two hours searching through web sites to be updated with new and
creative solutions for the project problems. I also read online forum, publications, newsletters provided
by --------- like --------.

CE1.10
the manufacture engineer explain for me possibility of providing central greasing system to truck
which was an option not mention in our specification or there offer I consulted my technical manager
through email and phone conversation as expert he recommended to request the system for it is
economic add value. This was helped me to made strong decide to I arranged for presentation in
English to the technical and public relations staff where I descript the location and importance of spc in
my country Especially the container terminal and the future development plans of expanding.

CE1.11
. the equipments was arrived to the terminal disassembled in containers. I created a registration system
for arriving parts in warehouse.

CE1.12
The supplier sent an engineer for assembly stage .I was a singed as assembly and commission team
leader by spc . In order supplier engineer speak only English I deployed in each working group a head
representative who could understand English to translate the orders in the native language for them.
I portioned the assembly process into 3 parallel stages to enable thorough investigation. I pre estimated
the required manpower .lifting gears .tools and equipment’s for the completion of assembly stage after
studied the manufacture manual. i inspected all equipments and lifting gear according to …code .
CE1.13

As a team leader I tried to be an ethical professional I respected my team members I distribute the tasks
and correspond workload in equal for all regardless the race .sex. Or mental discriminations .i gave
frequent breaks. I stated a bonus system based on the worker performance I selected experienced
technicians in assembly team. I assessed all related documents and identifications cards first then I
submitted it to the workshop manager for final approval

CE1.14

I gave orders to the technicians verbally in daily morning meetings. also I posted orders on the notice
board in English in the site . I wrote a risk assessment for the assembly procedure stage I stated all
hazards and risk measures. I provided a tool box I explained for all team members the hazards and risks
expected during assembly procedure and the required PPE to be worn in English and I answer their
questions in details one by one

CE1.15

Prior to start work I ensure that all the team members had adequate PPE. I selected and tested the PPE
depending on osha requirements.i prepared the commissioning check list and reviewed it with
operation and workshop mangers .i tested the equipments in 42 ton capacity and 6 row position as per
specification . I Use instruments such as pressure gages .vodia to measure engine performance and
hydraulic scheme values at same situation and compared it to the technical specification in the manual .
the main problem was load test for laden equipment because no equivalent load compatible to the
spreader .i designed a fabricated container to be filled by water and used it for commissioning test .

CE1.16

In accordance with the new equipments successfully accomplished commission , I developed a guidance
booklet for operators and technicians included suggestions for the intervals of checking or
replacement of the wear and tear parts as well as safety precautions and instructions related to the
operation .I was successed in leading engineers and technicians team by conducting a technical
guidance ,providing instructions on the equipements assembly procedure and grantee safety at the
site .My perfect planning and personal devotion to the project lead me to gain a respect of team
members ,managers , and supplier .

CE1.17
After the equipments inter the service I conducted weekly meeting with the operation superintendent ,
workshop maintenance engineer and operators leaders to find out problems linked to their field and
how the duties of other side influenced them.
CE1.18

During all project stages I was working closely with the financial DEP and procurement DEP in order to
be updated with the latest market trend .that. I managed the project financial resources and organized
and excused all projects tasks also I planned the projects schedules beside coordinated employeesI
upload the in depth technical report prepared in English , which demonstrated in detail the steps that I
had promote and implement during the project to the spc electronic library
