The Way Forward For Indonesia


Ø Working collectively to support the development of commune principles, policy,
strategy, implementing arrangements and monitoring and reporting system
(moving away from projects to national Program) and embedding WWM as part
of the IUWM objectives.

Ø Adopting the principle of City wide Inclusive Sanitation

Ø Supporting cities to plan, implement, manage and monitor City Wide Inclusive
Sanitation Strategy :
- 1) Addressing Governance first for sustainable sanitation
- 2) Linking Infrastructure development to the Governance level to ensure
sustainable service

Ø Developing and implementing long term demand creation campaign for better
sanitation services

Ø Introducing technology and contracting innovations to use less land/


development of reuse-recycle concept

Ø Develop fiscal transfer to incentivize Cities to do better.
