I am a trained sociologist, graduating with a Bachelors in Sociology in 2009 along with

gaining a Masters degree in Applied Sociological Research in 2011 both from the
Autonomous University of Barcelona. My master degree project was a quantitative and
social network approach to the concept of friendship and the influence of online social
networking service, especially Facebook, had on it. In both degrees I tried to specialize
in research techniques, becoming my area of expertise. At the same time, I studied
different sociological issues as education, religion or gender and social care.
Once I finished my master degree, I continue my learning studying different
management courses for fundraising, international cooperation or cultural and

Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of positions in relation to sociology which

had developed and complemented my skills gained in university and aided in furthering
my career in the application of sociology.
My first role was as an assistant researcher in Aplica social research Ltd. I worked in
two principal projects: the first one was based in collect data of the art companies to
generate a statistical report for the Catalan government. The second one was about
data entry and analysis for the evaluation of the professors from the Polytechnic
University of Catalonia and the Theatre Institute of Barcelona. In both of them I had to
manage and updates excel databases, search and introduce relevant information and
process the data and prepare tables and graphics as well as analyze properly. The
experience I gained as well from this job, apart from statistical research, was to work
under pressure, with deadlines to deliver the reports.

Second was as an SPSS teacher for an administrative group of workers from a
consortium of hospitals. I had to prepare a basic level course of SPSS and teach them
how to use it. The classes were about how to import and export data from other origins
like MS excel, access or even word, modify the data to be able to work with SPSS,
creating new variables, recalculate them and using to generate descriptive tables as
well as graphics. At the end, I taught them to create and perform bivariate analysis and
helped with the report they were working. From this experience I would like to say I
gained confidence in public speaking at the same time I was reinforcing my knowledge

Thirdly as a market researcher I worked in different projects doing telephone interviews
with a specific surveys program. I gained good communication skills and learn to work

In summary, I have experience in field research and in data analysis, in addition to

being familiarized with quantitative and qualitative research methods and the use of
SPSS. In addition to my professional job history, I worked in the hospitality sector too,
complementing certain skills as my ability to work independently as well as in a team,
and make me able to adapt quickly to different situations, working under pressure in
occasions where my language is not my native tongue.
In all my previous jobs, I have strived to gain the maximum amount of knowledge and
experience in each of them, focusing on the relevance of the social methodology on
each project I have worked on. Further to this, I would like to expand my career
development in the area of methods of data collection and data analysis. (Do you
