Abstract: This study aimed to show a historical survey of the current stage that
is the preservation of historical heritage of the Villa Maria Zelia, one of the first
workers’ villages in the country, founded in the early last century. The place
stood out for presenting innovations in the standard of working class housing
of the time. In the village, even today you can see the type of housing that
each worker occupied in the community. However, over 98 years, this story is
being increasingly weakened by the time and the inertia of the government in
not protecting the architectural complex and the memory of its residents and
ascendants.
