Task
In this task you are required, to create a Timeline in the form of a comic strip that traces the
development of man from nomadic times to the beginnings of civilisation. Your cartoon strip will
start with the geographical origins of human beings and nomadic lifestyles (Cell ONE) and finish
with civilizations (CELL SIX). Cells TWO to FIVE show the process of the change represented by
Cells ONE and SIX. These cells (TWO to FIVE) should have FOUR of the following as themes. It is
your CHOICE as to which you use. You are also free to combine two or more of these themes into
one cartoon cell.
Your comic strip may be animated and, when complete, will answer the BIG question;
How did human beings go from living in bands in Africa to living in Civilizations around the
world?
When submitted, your final communication piece will be in a state that is publishable.

Reflect and Review – ask yourself the questions, tick the appropriate response, state what action is required if any and tick when done.
