The British School offers a very competitive compensation and benefits structure.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and only shortlisted

The British School is an international, not-for-profit school located in the heart of the
diplomatic area of New Delhi. The 54-year old school offers high quality education to
expatriate and local families by drawing on the best facets of a rich and culturally
diverse community. We offer the National Curriculum of England adapted to an
international context, the IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. With students from
nearly 60 nationalities, the school provides student-centred education in a safe,
stimulating and multicultural environment.

The school was started in July 1963 by a group of British parents with 40 students
representing six nationalities in a residential colony in New Delhi. They were
supported by the British High Commissioner and in 1969 moved the school to its
present location. While the school started with the aim of serving the diplomatic and
expatriate community, its remit has broadened considerably over the years resulting
in our definitive mix of British and international education in an Indian context. The
school operates under the aegis of ‘The British School Society’ with the British High
Commissioner to India as its President.

The first 50 years in the life of this school saw a mixture of the routine and
majorevents which punctuate the evolution of every school. Particular landmarks in
our history include the inauguration of our first auditorium by HRH Prince Philip in
1983. The introduction of the A levels in 1990 followed by the shift to the
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in 2005 were notable
milestones as was the introduction of a Nursery for three year olds in 2008. In
keeping with the curriculum developments in Britain, we are the leading provider of
an accredited EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) provision for our youngest
students. The school campus was inaugurated in two phases by the then British High
Commissioners to India at the time, Sir James Bevan KCMG in 2014 and Sir Dominic
Asquith KCMG in 2016.
