Recruitment Presentation
ANNUAL CAMP

Annual camp is a two week long camp which you


go away to barracks.

At annual there are many opportunities like:


adventure training, sports, shooting and many
other things.

Annual gives you a chance to make new friends


and meet the rest of the battalion.

Promotions and battalion parades take place and


it is an all round good time.
WHO ARE WE?

The ACF is a youth organisation for ages


12-18

We provide challenging opportunities for


young people and activities

We are NOT the army, joining the ACF


does not mean we will make you join the
army

We provide training and experiences that


you can’t find anywhere else.
MILITARY SKILLS

The subjects we cover are:


Navigation
Expedition
First Aid
Drill
Skill at Arms
Shooting
Fieldcraft
Military Knowledge
Adventurous Training
NAVIGATION

Obtain nationally recognised


qualifications. Navigation is learning to
use a map and compass to find your way
around.

The qualification available is the National


Navigation Award Scheme.
You can obtain BRONZE, SILVER AND
GOLD certification.
EXPEDITION

This ranges from what kit you should


select and how you should pack it.

How to pitch a tent and camp


overnight safely.
How to cook your food safely in the
field.
FIRST AID

First Aid training is a progressive subject.

Over the time you spend with us you learn:


Heartstart
Basic First Aid
First Aid at Work *
Youth Activity First Aid *

* These two are recognised by employers.


So when you leave school and get a job,
you may be paid more for having this
qualification.
We train you and qualify you FREE
DRILL

This is marching.

We use it when attending nationally


recognised parades.
Remembrance Day in November is the
biggest event for this subject.

It instils discipline, teamwork and pride


in your appearance.

SKILL AT ARMS/SHOOTING

This is weapons training.

We train you to safely handle and fire


various weapons.
You will train on a number of rifles
ranging from an air rifle to the target
rifel.
FIELDCRAFT

Every cadets favourite subject is


feildcraft.

We take you out into the field


overnight where you will learn to put
up a shelter, proper camouflage and
concealment, and how to cook
effectively in the field.
You will also take part in patrols,
section attacks, and observations.
MILITARY KNOWLEDGE

This teaches the history of our


organisation.

The structure of our Battalion


organisation.

History of our badged Regiments within


the British Army.
ADVENTUROUS TRAINING

This is the FUN part!!

There are to many activities


to list, these pictures are a
selection of just some you
can take part in.
SPORTS

There is a lot of opportunities in the army cadets to


do with sports.

Including: athletics, football, swimming, rugby, tug a


war, volley ball and hockey.

Which you can compete in regionally and


nationally.
STEM

I was one of the lucky few that got picked to go to a woman and
engineering presentation at Sandhurst university.

We listened to inspiring women and got to wander around stands and take
part in small activities at each station.

I made new friends and got to meet people that would help me choose my
path in the future.
Can I obtain qualifications to
help me when I leave school?
