ABSTRACT : Roles are necessary to improve employee work discipline, because the
leader is one of the critical success factors of a organization. Results from the study
showed that the sub-district leadership role in improving employee discipline has
been good enough. Factors that influence in improving employee discipline, namely
in terms of attitudes towards peaturan awareness, supervision and leadership
firmness in the form of authority leaders and penal sanctions has been quite good,
but the penalty was less strict. Efforts are made leadership in improving labor
discipline of employees is increasing and an understanding and awareness to the
employees in terms of discipline, especially the problem of time and work, increasing
the role of leadership in terms of supervision and assertiveness in order to give effect
to the firm to employees and make binding regulations, clear and decisively against
violations of discipline. To improve labor discipline of employees at the district
office Amuntai North Hulu Sungai Utara in order to run optimally, it is
recommended that leaders provide direction and motivation to subordinates so raise
employee morale, other than that the leader must be assertive to employees who lack
discipline by senatiasa supervise and provide appropriate penal sanctions firm, in
addition to the leaders are expected to create a good relationship in the office so that
make employees feel comfortable in the office.
