VIEWPOINT 1 AND 2

ASSESSMENT

The minimum passing grade for any activity and for course promotion in 70%. Decimals are rounded down. Assessment is as follows (Click on the
hyperlinks for more information):

Performance Grades (Based on attendance and participation during contact sessions)

4-point grades (0=poor/absent, 1=bad, 2=good, 3=very good, 4=excellent) are recorded in the official class list on the dates shown below.

Blogs, Forums and Recordings (Voice Tools)

Starting in IIO5, teachers will not grade these activities separately in the gradebook. Forums/Blogs will be completed during contact session Teacher
will guide students on how to complete the activity and will provide effective feedback to students’ contributions.

Smithsonian Discussions (Courses IIO1 and above)

 You can find the articles you must read at Paideia Idiomas – “Recursos y Ejercicios Online: Cursos Inglés Adultos”
 The Smithsonian Discussion takes place on the 7th contact session. Everyone must attend.

Portfolio (Courses IIO5 and above)

 Every course, the tutor will plan a guided writing lesson followed by a live session in which students will work on a graded writing task: two
writing activities will go into the Portfolio grade.
 Writing tasks will reflect the contents of the units of the course, following the learning path provided in the writing lesson in each unit, which
will focus on a specific strategy.
 Students must submit their answers to their writing tasks via Portfolio in CambridgeLMS.
 T. provides writing topic during the contact session right after the guided writing activities: 50 minutes for guided activities and 40 minutes
for graded writing task.
 T. has a 4-working-day deadline to submit students’ detailed feedback and save students’ grade in the gradebook for the first GWT and the
course general deadline for the second GWT.
 Number of words in GWT:
o Viewpoint 1: 180 – 220
o Viewpoint 2: 220 – 260
