To Dr. Mascolo,

The media specialist and I did an evaluation of the PES Media Center. We used the
2016 Judy Serritella Exemplary Library Media Program Self-Evaluation Rubric, which
addresses specific indicators within the framework of an effective media center.
Attached to this memo you will find the results of the evaluation and a plan designed to
improve the media center’s performance in areas that rated basic. We also developed a
plan to improve one area that was rated proficient up to exemplary. The areas that rated
basic were student achievement assessment and GALILEO is not being used as a
resource as much as it should. In the proficient area we determined that to move to
exemplary students need to use GALILEO more as a resource.
Knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the media center has been eye opening. We
hope to take this information and improve the weaknesses.

Sincerely,
Heather Hodges
