1.1 SCOPE
This manual provides the requirements set forth in Appendix A of FAR Part 29 for the Instructions for
Continued Airworthiness of the Dart D412-750 Tail Light Fairing Kits when installed on the Bell
204/205/212/412 model aircraft. These Instructions for Continued Airworthiness have been determined to
be acceptable to Transport Canada and are to be referred to for inspection and maintenance when the
Tail Light Fairing Kits are installed on, removed from, or in service on the rotorcraft.
1.2 ARRANGEMENT
This manual is arranged in ATA-100 format. This manual is only applicable to the model Bell
204/205/212/412 rotorcraft modified with the Dart D412-750 Tail Light Fairing Kits.
There are no abbreviations, acronyms, or symbolization, which are not common to the aviation industry in
this manual.
Units of measurement are expressed in Imperial and metric values and all torque values are standard
values for the specified fastener combinations as defined in FAA AC 43.13, unless specified otherwise in
this document.
No other Instructions for Continued Airworthiness for any product or appliance is inferred or addressed
herein.

Note: For the convenience of scheduling maintenance, the tolerance for scheduled inspection
intervals is +/-10% (+/- 30 hours). In each case, the subsequent interval will be adjusted to
re-establish the original schedule. When an inspection is done more than 10% early,
subsequent inspections will be advanced as required not to exceed the maximum tolerance.
Concurrence and final approval of inspection interval tolerance by the governing civil aviation
authority is the responsibility of the owner/operator.
5.1.1 All visible areas of the installation should be checked for mechanical damage (cracking,
scratches, nicks, and corrosion damage). Cracks are unacceptable in the D3484-041/-042
Tail Light Fairing Assembly. In the corners where the D3484-041/-042 fairing has been
welded during manufacture, cracks may be welded closed using 4043 or 5356 filler rod per
MIL-STD-2219. Elsewhere, cracks up to 0.50” long can be welded closed using the same
4043 or 5356 filler rod per MIL-STD-2219. Corrosion damage, nicks, and scratches up to
0.015” deep may be polished out with scotchbrite.
5.1.2 Check that all AN3-3A bolts are securely fastened. Hole elongation up to 0.025” is
acceptable. Replace worn or damaged fasteners per section 5.1.4. Check that the A2064-
1683 Taillight Assembly is properly secured to the D3484-041/-042 fairing.
5.1.3 Inspect the finish of the D3484-041/-042 Tail Light Fairing. Touch up alodine per MIL-C-
5541. Touch up primer and paint as required in accordance with Aircraft Maintenance
Manual.
5.1.4 Replace excessively damaged or worn parts per Chapter 53 of these instructions. If fairing
has been removed for inspection, re-install per Chapter 53.2.

53.1.2 Detach both wires of the A2064-1683 Taillight Assembly supported by the Tail Light Fairing to
completely free the assembly from the tailboom.
53.1.3 If required, remove the A2064-1683 Taillight Assembly from D3484-041/-042 Tail Light Fairing by
unfastening MS35206-217 (or equivalent) screws (See Figure 53-1, Detail B).
53.2.2 Reconnect both wires of the A2064-1683 Taillight Assembly per the Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
53.2.3 Mount D3484-041/-042 Tail Light Fairing using AN3-3A bolts. Torque bolts 15-25 lb⋅in (1.7-2.8
N⋅m).
