1. What is solid waste management?
- It is how people solve problems on solid waste, it is also the process of collecting
and treating solid waste. It teaches solutions on recycling because waste
management is all about how the waste can be transformed and used as a
valuable resource.
2. What is climate change?
- It is the long-term change in the global climate. It may refer to a change in weather
conditions or time variation of weather. Climate change is primarily caused by the
accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, trapping heat of the sun
commonly known as the greenhouse effect.
3. What are the legal bases in the Philippines concerning environmental protection?
- Small scale composting includes (1) Twin pits, (2) Tower tires, (3) Bottomless
composters, (4) Clay flower pots compost, (5) Plastic bag composters, and (6)
Compost bins
- The paradigm shift of solid waste management shows the transition of paradigm
from conventional perspective to alternative or new perspective. Conventional
perspective shows the solid management starts from raw materials and ends with
the dumpsite. While, alternative or new perspective explains that raw materials
may be recycled or re-used.
- It will be being a more disciplined member of the community, change starts with
ourselves, we should be the one to act even on the simplest situations like not
spitting on public roads, throwing our own trash where it belongs and segregating
solid waste.
