For this assignment, I decided to summarize an article that deals with abortion titled “ 4

Congress’ Recent Anti- Abortion Actions , After Iowa Passes Measure”. Early this year , Iowa
state legislatures decide to pass a bill banning abortion from six weeks of pregnancy. Officials
from across the United States introduced hostile to premature birth enactment following
President Trump's election. Nineteen states instated 63 limitations altogether to abortion
procedure in 2017 which was highest number of state laws on the issue since 2013. States
have efficiently put more roadblocks in front of abortion, however federal lawmakers have no
longer had any luck. Some attempts were made by Congress to narrow the abortions. The
Senate denied a bill banishing abortion after 20 weeks of being pregnant in January ,right after
the bill got passed by the House in 2017. Republicans exceeded a bill to Defund Planned
Parenthood through the HOuse, however the legislations avoided the issue in the Senate
committee. This bill will prohibited Planned Parenthood from receiving any cash from the
Federal Government for about a year unless they no longer grant any abortions. Planned
Parenthood and two different organizations are suing Trump administration's due to the new
Health and Human Services guidance issued in February, arguing that modifications to the
federal Title X program will indeed put the health of thousands and thousands of low-income
sufferers at risk. Health care law of 2017, specifies that no federal subsides should be utilized
for health insurance to pay for abortion. The ACHA limited Planned Parenthood funds by not
allowing Medicaid to go into the organization. There was not enough federal money to pay for all
abortions services, however the regualtion paused federal reimbursement for toddlers
healthcare, birth control and many other service provide by Planned Parenthood. According to
the law people who receive tax credit can not purchase plans that cowl abortion services ,
separate abortion coverages are available. Last year, Marsha Blackburn introduced rules
increasing on a bill known as “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act”. “It establishes
requirements for healthcare practitioners to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a
child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion”. Any who violates this bill can be charged
with first degree murder. The bill hasn't yet been processed by the Senate.
