Thank you for purchasing a genuine Mazda accessory.
Before removal and installation, be sure to thoroughly read these instructions.
Please read the contents of this booklet in order to properly install and use the Remote engine
start. Your safety depends on it.
Keep these instructions with your vehicle records for future reference.
WARNING
x There are several WARNING and CAUTION sections in this booklet concerning safely when
installing or removing the Remote engine start. Always read and follow them in order to prevent injuries,
accidents, and possible damage to the vehicle.
WARNING: Indicates a situation in which serious injury or death could result if the warning
is ignored.
CAUTION: Indicates a situation in which bodily injury or damage to the vehicle could result if the
caution is ignored.
x For areas indicating the tightening torque in this instruction manual, tighten to the specified torque using
a torque wrench. For areas in which the tightening torque is indicated inside parentheses ( ), the
tightening torque is indicated as a reference value, however tightening using a torque wrench is not
necessary.
x Do not modify the Remote engine start.
x Do not install the Remote engine start in any way other than described in the following instructions.
x If in any doubt, please ask your Mazda dealer to install the accessory in order to prevent errors in
installation.
x If you have any questions about the use of the accessory, ask your Mazda dealer for proper advice
before using it.
x Mazda and its suppliers are not responsible for injuries, accidents, and damage to persons and property

x To ensure safety and reliability of the work, installation, removal and disposal work must carried out by
an Authorized Mazda Dealership.

3. Push the glove compartment end in the direction of the arrow

the lower panel and cause scratches or damage. When

1. Loosen bolts.
CAUTION
Bolt x If the passenger-side lower panel moves in the lateral
direction when bolts are loosened, go to the Step 3 and 4.㻌
x If the passenger-side lower panel does not move in the
lateral direction when bolts are loosened, go to the Step 5.㻌

4. Install bolts in the order of (1) and (2) while pressing the shaded
area shown in the figure for the passenger-side lower panel.

the glove compartment and passenger side lower panel again,
and verify that it is within the specification.
CAUTION
(1) x If it is not within the specification after measuring the

6. HOOD SWITCH INSTALLATION

x This procedure is not necessary for vehicles with the theft deterrent or with i-ELOOP system
because the hood switch is already installed.
1. Install the hood switch to the hood latch and secure it using a

4. Peel back the tape backings on the back of the mount bases
and affix the mount bases on the shroud member upper at two
locations with the hood switch harness routed as shown in the

7䠊REMOTE ENGINE START INSTALLATION
1. Rotate the RES ECU antenna and align the opening in the
RES ECU

7. Connect the harness 12 pin connector to the RES ECU.
8. Degrease the RES ECU installation position at the upper back
of the glove compartment (dashboard) using primer, and affix
double-sided adhesive tape of the RES ECU.
WARNING
x When affixing the RES ECU to the㻌decoration panel, verify
that it does not interfere with the securing clip.

x Use 3M Promoter-4298 for primer.
x When degreasing using primer, only apply primer to the
degreased area to prevent other parts from becoming
discolored.

11. Tighten the dashboard member bolt (vehicle part) together with

9䠊OPERATION CHECK
1. Register the controller (= RES ECU) with reference to the attached sheets "GENUINE REMOTE ENGINE
START࠙Parts No. C930 V7 620AࠚRegistration Procedure Of the Controller".
2. Perform the Vehicle status check with the remote control (= Remote Start Transmitter), and verify the "Stop"
mark is appeared and Error display " t " is not appeared on the LCD monitor of it when it receives a response
from the vehicle.
3. Perform the Engine start operation with the remote control, and verify the vehicle engine is started.
4. If Steps 2 to 4 cannot be completed successfully, refer to the "Troubleshooting manual" issued by Mazda.
