AIMS
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
 Help students improve their grammar using different types of exercises
 To elicit informations about people they see in an image using present continuous
 To talk about things they find out from a text
 To write simple sentences using present continuous

TECHNIQUES: simple description on verbal and picture support, observation, explanation;dialogues,

Students might encounter difficulties in using correctly present continuous(affirmative,negative and
interrogative)

1. CLASS ORGANISATION

PROCEDURE *T asks Ss: How are you today? / Is anybody absent? / Are you ready to start the
English class?
*Ss answer T’s questions;

PROCEDURE *T asks Ss what their homework was;

3. WARM UP

AIM *to create a pleasant atmosphere for the English class;
*to help students feel relaxed
INTERACTION *T – Ss; *Ss - T
PROCEDURE *Teacher tells students that they are going to watch a short movie with present
continuous and asks the students to read the sentences they see on the screen
Teacher announces the title and the aims of the lesson and writes the title on the
whiteboard.

4.TRANSITION TO THE NEW TOPIC

AIM  to improve their grammar using different types of exercises with
present continuous
COMPETENCE 2.1 prezentarea simpla a unei persoane/a unui personaj.
INTERACTION *Ss – Ss; *Ss – T
PROCEDURE Teacher tells students that they will have to transform the affirmative sentences
from the movie into negative and interrogative .
Teachers explains that each group will receive a red cross(negative sentence) and a
yellow question mark (interrogative sentence)
Each group will show at their choice the red cross or the yellow question mark to
another group in order to transform an affirmative sentence to negative or
interrogative
*Ss use their general knowledge and give the correct answers.

PROCEDURE Students identify the characters by getting a sentence to present continuous from a
box
Students label on the image the names of the characters they identify.

PROCEDURE *Students get a worksheet with a text ,they read it out loud
Ss identify from the text the affirmative,negative and interrogative sentences and
complete a chart.
Students answer the questions about the text

T announces the students that they are about to write a post card to a friend
describing what they are doing using present continuous.
