IN CHRIST JESUS

I Corinthians 15:20-57

‘In Christ Jesus’ is a place of dwelling for the born-again man and the following
scriptures attest to that:

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made
nigh by the blood of Christ.
Galatians 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails
anything, but a new creation.

There are two categories of people living on this earth. Those living ‘in Adam’ and
those living ‘in Christ’.

I Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made
alive.

You cannot live outside these domains. These are the physical and spiritual dwellings
of mankind. The man in Adam is a seed of Adam, even so the man in Christ source
from Christ.
Each of these dwelling places (in Adam and in Christ) are governed and ruled by
its own laws. Laws are legal document setting forth rules governing a particular
kind of activity. The believer (man in Christ) and the unbeliever do not operate by
the same spiritual laws. The former is to rule by the law of the spirit, while as the
latter is governed by the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free
from the law of sin and death.

1
So the question is how does someone opt to be ‘in Adam’ or ‘in Christ’ ? What are
the benefit and consequence associated with this choice?
Ok, anyone born into this world is born into ‘Adam’. That individual is automatically
part of the Adamic generation. The generation started from Genesis 5:1 and continued
until today. However, all men have the choice to change ‘family’. That is from the
Adamic family to the Christ Jesus family. The choice is yours. Note also that, all
persons of the Adamic family are living soul.

1 Corinthians15: 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living
soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he
him; male and female created he them.; Genesis 2: 7 And the LORD God formed
man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and
man became a living soul.

A living soul is a fleshly biased man. In Genesis 2:7: God formed man, that is the
moulding of dust into man. He breaths the breath of life into man. That is the
extension of God into dust. An the result was a living creature (Soul). This living
soul could easily respond to the physical environment compared to the things of the
spirit. The created man was fleshly biased (soul). This is because the man-dust
could easily react to dustily (physical) things. The Adamic man was to be complete
and fully functional through the ‘tree of life’. However, the ‘timing’ for eating from
the tree was abused by man.
We get to understand in Genesis that, the Adamic man disobeyed the instruction
of God (his master) and lost his functionality. Man died.

Genesis 2: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat
of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die (ie in Hebrew die
die).

2
In Genesis 3:6 man eat of the tree and died. Therefore any man who is born into
this family is also dead in spiritual terms. Adam could not function are he was
created to. Man lost functionality of what God has purposed him to do. The first
death can be surmised as:
1. Man became fully fleshly. His physical sense now overshadowed his spiritual
self. It was at this point man realised he was naked. The spiritual covering
was removed.

Genesis 3: 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they
were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

But before they had a spiritual covering for their nakedness, which they really
loved

Genesis 2: 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not
ashamed.

2. Man disassociated himself from spiritual things. Man became a devotee of the
things of the world.

Genesis 3: 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden
in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife HID themselves from the presence
of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Man loved darkness instead of light. He loves to be at the joint than to be in

church.

3. Man became solvers of the own problem. Instead of relying on God for his
needs, he chooses to get it by his own means. Man decided to make attire for
himself. The best he could make was a garment out of leaves. I ask, how long
will that attire last? Humm, hard work unto vanity.

Genesis 3: 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they
were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

3
But God in his own wisdom knew what was best for man. God made them
lasting attire.

Genesis 3: 21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats
of skins, and clothed them.

Man trying to get things outside the provision of God leads to struggles and
vanity. Anything that originates from God is eternal beneficial. In Adam there
is the struggle for perishable and non-eternal possessions.

4. The Adamic man lives in fear,

Genesis 3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid,
··· .

5. There is blame, blaming and the blame game in Adam. Genesis 3:12- . The
unbeliever always blames another for his woes.

6. The Adamic man goes through sorrow and pain from conception until birth,
Genesis 3:16

7. There is the superiority of husband over wife, Genesis 3:16

8. Eating is from the sorrows of life, Genesis 3:17,19

9. Life is through hard work. There is the absence of grace, favour and the hand
of God in situations, Genesis 3:23

10. The Adamic man loves to cover his sin.

The first death can be surmised by these ten points. We will get to know that,
the man is Christ is not bound by these points. He is quickened to function
appropriately.
Therefore the first death can be explained as the situation when a living person is
out of purpose. The man in Adam in out of function. He gains all possessions, yet
not satisfied.

4
Proverbially, man is to die twice a result of the fall. Check the latter part of the
underlying scripture:
Genesis 2:17 thou shalt not eat <’akal> of it: for in the day <yowm> that thou
eatest <’akal> thereof thou shalt surely <muwth> die <muwth>. (Double death)
The second death is when man ages and physical dust can no more sustain the
spirit within. For the believer, it is the willingly departure after completion of
earthy mandate. Let hold on with the exposition of the second death.

Another resultant doom for Adam succumbing to the devil was the positionally
exchange of possession and power. Whoever/whatever you wish to be your master,
you conform. Who and what you conform becomes your master. Adam obeyed
Satan and Satan took over Adam’s position and possessions. In the beginning the
order of creation was
God → Man → Satan
After Satan deceiving man, he took the place of man. The order changed to
God → Satan → Man
Adam handed all his possession and power to the devil. The man in Adam does
not have control over any thing in these world including his life. We can see this in
scripture where Satan brags to Jesus of what he gained from Adam

Luke 4: 6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory
of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

This order could be reversed only by the man in the Adamic race who is able to
defeat Satan. Glory be to Jesus Christ (The last Adam) who was able to defeat Satan
to the starting of a new family; the Christ Jesus family. Man could be reinstated
through another spiritual combat. But Jesus, our senior brother won the battle. He
raised man from the dead (first death) and reinstated us.
Col 2: 15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them

5
openly, triumphing over them in it.
Heb 2: 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also
himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that
had the power of death, that is, the devil;

After Jesus defeating Satan, he becomes the first begotten from the dead Rev 1:5.
Other dead brethren can choose to join this family if they so wish. Man has the
choice to be ‘in the Christ family’ or ‘the Adam family’. We have the option to have
Christ as our head or Satan as the head. The new selective order is as below:
God → Man in Christ → Satan
God → Satan → Adamic Man
The choice is your, but I will be glad if you join the ‘living’ team; The Christ Jesus
Family.

HOW CAN SOMEONE JOIN THE CHRIST JESUS FAMILY

When someone wishes to change lordship or master, he only needs to make an open
declaration. That is entrusting your life under the care of a master. One should
openly declare that he doesn’t need Satan as his master again. Rather he wants
Christ to be his lord. Whenever this is done, that person is been birth again by
God the father. His identity and makeup changes instantly. He is born again. He
is raised from the death (first)

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your
heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

The man in Christ has a quickening spirit, I Corinthians 15:45. Whatever man lost
in Adam during the fall is fully restored to him. Whatever died ‘in Adam’ is given
life; I Corinthians 15:22.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 45 And so it

6
is written, ”The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a
life-giving spirit.
Moreover, the man in Christ is a son of God. Christ is no more the only begotten
of the father. Anyone who joins the in Christ family also becomes the son of God.
We are the sons of God.

Galatians 4: 4-7 But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his
Son, made of a woman, made under the law, 5 To redeem them that were under the
law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 6 And because ye are sons, God hath
sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. 7 Wherefore
thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through
Christ.
John 3:1-2 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we
should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew
him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we
shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is.
The born-again man is liked unto Jesus.
I will entreat you also become a son by making this open declaration:
Lord Jesus, I humbly call onto you. I am tired of doing things my way.
I repent today, forgive me all my sins. I believe that, Jesus you died for
me on the Cross and your Holy blood washed my sins. I accept you as
my LORD and SAVIOUR. Lord Jesus, I thank you for making me a new
creature. Fill the emptiness in me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to
trust you, love you and live for you. I ask for your gift of Eternal life in
Jesus Name, Amen.

WHAT HAS BEEN MADE NEW IN CHRIST

All things concerning you have become new. You need to start this new life by
believing that you have been born afresh into a new family. A family that is governed
by new laws and headed by a loving Father. The man in Christ is a brand new man.
That man has never existed before. He is a totally new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things

have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

The new man has been quickened. He is made alive. He is also a life given spirit. In
Christ, there is the overflowing restitution for whatever the ‘old man’ lost in Adam.
The following are some revolutions of the new man.

1. New wine/New spirit; Matthew 9:16-17, 2 Timothy 1:10

2. New garments/ New bodies , Luke 5:36-37, 2 Corinthians 5:2-

3. New tongues, Mark 16:17

4. New blood covenant; Matthew 26:28, Mark 14:24

5. New Doctrine; Mark 1:27; Act 17:19

6. New commandment: John 13:34, 1 John 2:8, 2 John 1:5

The above is expounded as follows

NEW SPIRIT

Man is a tripartite being; He is a spirit, abodes in a body, and has a soul, 1

Thessalonian 5:23.
The spirit is the source of life in man, James 2:26. The soul is the living life,
Genesis 2:7. If the source (spirit) is corrupted, then whatever comes out (soul)
is also corrupted. The body is the medium/channel where this life (spirit+soul)

8
becomes visible. In Adam, the source is corrupted(dead) and its offshoot(life) is
also dead.
The Spirit in Man is either human-centered or God-centered, 1 Corinthians 2:11. In
simple terms, the human spirit is the inactivated spirit of God. Hence any resulting
life is humanly or soulish, 1 Corinthians 15:22;45. The activated spirit is what
scripture calls ‘quickening spirit’. The life of the quickening man is just like God.
The complete activation is only possible in Christ Jesus.

The Dimensions of This Activation

1. The coming upon Spirit: This is God coming to/into man to activate his
spirit for a specific assignment/work. After the fall of man and through the
wickedness of mankind, the spirit never resided with man

Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, My spirit will not be in man for ever, for he is
only flesh; so the days of his life will be a hundred and twenty years (BBE).

This meant that, the soulish man can of himself do nothing until he is endued
with power from God; 1 Samuel 10:6, Judges 3:1-10; Numbers 11:16-17.

1 Samuel 10:6 Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you, and you will
prophesy with them and be turned into another man.

Judges 3:9 When the children of Israel cried out to the LORD, the LORD
raised up a deliverer for the children of Israel, who delivered them: Othniel
the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger 10 The Spirit of the LORD came upon
him, and he judged Israel. He went out to war, and the LORD delivered
Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed
over Cushan-Rishathaim.

The spirit of God came upon all these people of old to perform a given task.
Jesus was not an exception, Matthew 3:16, Luke 4:18-21; Luke 3:21-22.

21 Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also
being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, 22 And the Holy Ghost

9
descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from
heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

This forms one dimension of the activation of the dormant man.

2. The Spirit Within: God extended himself into man again after the resurrection
of Jesus. This is a continual vitalization of the spirit man. This new spirit
of God is forever with and in man. Juxtaposing with Genesis 6:3, the order
changed after the resurrection of Christ, and whoever finds himself/herself in
Christ Jesus is a benefactor to this new Spirit.

John 14:16 And I will make prayer to the Father and he will give you another
Helper to be with you for ever, 17 Even the Spirit of true knowledge. That
Spirit the world is not able to take to its heart because it sees him not and has
no knowledge of him: but you have knowledge of him, because he is ever with
you and will be in you.

Some benefit of the indwelling spirit is as follows:

(a) The spirit is our teacher; I John 2:27, John 16:13. He impacts us skills
and knowledge. He should however avail ourselves to be taught.

(b) He quickens/ give life to our bodies; Romans 8:11; 2 Corinthians 3:18

(c) The spirit helps with our feebleness/malady/weakness. In our readiness

to pray, the spirit of God assists us to pray right, Romans 8:27; 1 Corinthians
14:2.

(d) To know the mind of God concerning our daily living, I Corinthians 2:9-14

This continual activation is to make the new man function in his purpose.

NEW BODIES

From 2 Corinthians 5:17, we understand that ALL things are made new. The
physical body is one of the things that have been anew in Christ. For the ‘born
again’ man all things are born again.

10
The resurrected body is glorified, it has honour and it is incorruptible, 1 Corinthians
15:42-44.

42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is

raised in incorruption.43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in
weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual
body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

From Romans 6:4, we get to know that we died with Christ. Our bodies were in
Christ when he died. The Adamic body died with Christ. In his resurrection, we
resurrected with him. The man in Christ gains a new body during his born again
delivery. The new body is a quickening/live body, Romans 8:11-12, 2 Corinthians
3:18
Christ manifested some abilities of this new body after the resurrection. Christ could
walk through walls after his resurrection John 20:19-. Do not be over exaggerative
at this point. The new body could also eat Luke 24:41-42 and talk, John 20:19- .
So this body you have in Christ is also new. Walk in this consciousness.
Philip the evangelist also demonstrated the teleporting ability of this new body, Act
8: 34-40.
The new man is wholly immortal, 2 Timothy 1:10.
2 Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus
Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel

Bodily weakness is as a result of not engaging the spirit of God within. The mind
needs to be renewed first to accept these realities: Romans 12:2; Col 3:8-11. After
is a continual engagement and fellowship with the spirit of God; Ephesians 4:20-32;
Galatians 5:16-25.
This new body have continual activation and vitalization from the new spirit within;

11
Roman 8:11; 2 Corinthians 3:7-18. This can be compared to the moon sourcing light
from the sun. The positioning of the moon makes it emits light. In equivalence:
sun=spirit, body=moon

Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through
His Spirit who dwells in you.

Talk the spirit talk. Talk in tongues.

New Tongue

As English/Twi is to the body, so is Tongues to the Spirit. The language of the new
man is Tongues. The episode on Tongues continues later. But remember that:

Believer: Activated Body + Activated Spirit + Soul = Quickening spirit

Unbeliever: Dust Body + Dormant Spirit + Soul = Living soul

You are a blessing

Love You
