COMPANY BACKGROUND

Goo Swee Records is a record company that specializes in various musical genres including;
experimental, minimalism, tape manipulation, avant garde jazz, noise, and visual/aural art pieces. The
Goal of Goo Swee Records is to promote music as art, to provide an outlet for artists who don’t have
the opportunity to play their music through conventional means (traditional radio, rock-music venues,
etc.), and to create a community of like minded musicians and collaborators.

OBJECTIVES
Sign and record music that is made with artistic integrity in mind.

Provide these artists with visual art, promotion, physical records, and branded clothing.

Book artists in various and appropriate art galleries, music venues, festivals. etc.

Grow Goo Swee as a brand that is synonymous with aural art.

Piece will be scored twice to create

a 6mm spine.

2 - 6 mm tabs will need to be scored

and adhered accordingly

The front cover to the back cover to

create a ‘pocket’.

Might do a ‘gatefold’ cover which

will require more scoring, adhereing
and 4 visual panels instead of 2.

Will need a 2.5 mm bleed around the

design.

This piece will be executed with the artist in mind. The artist is also a collagest
text element.
so their work will be brought into the overall design of the cover. Thus Colour
swatch families, typography, and imagery / iconography / vectors has not been
decided upon yet.

Will need to Trim and Carton

This piece will be executed with the artist in mind.

The poster will be a similar design to the album cover. It will include
upcoming dates and locations and would be sold at events and online.

T - SHIRT
A high mesh screen
160-230 threads per inch

Screen will need to be ‘shot’

(exposed)

1 spot colour
The design will be a one colour job;
Black plasticol ink on light tee
White plasticol ink on dark tee

Only one screen will be shot and

used. Registration becomes much
less important

Shirt will need to be ‘cured’ so the

plasticol ink can adhere to the cotton
fibers of the shirt.

Design could be a bitmap image.

Will need to be ‘halftoned’ in
PSD.

This piece may be branded to the musician, their album and

their upcoming tour or it may be general branding for
Goo Swee Records.
