Group Goal/Task: Prepare a presentation for the class that helps to teach students
about the issues of labor in America today in more depth.
Your presentation should include:
1. Groups of 3-4 choose one of these categories to research and prepare a 15-20 minute presentation
and activity to help your peers learn about the issue you signed up for.
2. A learning goal for the audience
a. Example: How our current economic model impacts different social classes.
3. Context and background on the issue.
4. Specific details on the issue
5. All information should be cited and corroborated, with a minimum of 5 sources
6. Interactive and engaging components. This could include: videos, quizzes, pair shares, activities,
note taking sections, movement activities, coloring, games, etc.
7. Clear connections to labor movements of the past. Examples could include: conditions, political
systems, economic models or philosophies, similar grievances, really any connections you can make
as a journalist to be.
8. One solution or example where this issue is being resolved or worked on.
9. Refined and rehearsed with each group member contributing during the presentation.
10. Be prepared in google slides, Prezi or PowerPoint.
11. Make it visually beautiful, with images and as few words as necessary on each slide. Make a
separate document of talking points to guide you.
