Adopt a heritage scheme

Although India is the 7th largest travel and tourism industry in the world yet it's heritage sites are in
different states. Therefore, our prime minister Narendra Modi launched highly fanfare scheme 'Adopt a
heritage site' on sep 27, 2017.

The main mottos of this scheme is to rejuvenate heritage sites and facilities tourist amenities. Because,
in some heritage sites there is no light faciliy, they remain filthy and rarely a person remain there to take
care.

This flagship scheme is lauded. Under this scheme, monuments are adopted by public and private
companies and individuals wherein they will be liable to up keep development and tourist amenities at
the sites. At the nascent stage of the scheme, 14 monuments including Taj mahal,Qutub minar, Ajanta
elora etc. were adopted by 7 companies.

Recently, Dalmia Bharat adopted Red fort which was listed under the heritage sites in 2007 included
under the green category of "Adopt a heritage scheme" for 25 crore rupees for 5 year span.

Moreover, besides the erstwhile objectives of the scheme, it will create more job opportunities in the
torism sector and will grace up the economy of pur country.

However, huge changes can't be seen in overnight but, we can increase the impetus of progress.
Different NGO's take the responsibility of heritage sites. At the individual side, people should take part in
cleanliness and hygiene of the heritage monuments. We need to come together for maintaining our old,
exquisite and precious monuments.
