Print the attached templates, preferably on 8.5x11” Heavy (110#) Cardstock. Any color or
pattern is fine. The page with three templates should be printed twice. Make sure you print
at 100%, not size to fit.
Cut the templates along the solid lines. Note a few solid lines cut into the template to create
flaps.
Score the templates along the dashed lines.
The overall insert will be the patterns combined as follows:
Top Well #2 Top Well #1
Side Well
Card Well #2 Card Well #1
Card Well #1 and Card Well #2
Take the card well pattern.
Position as above. On the right side is a double wall, while on the left is a single wall. This is
because the left wall will be attached Card Well #2 in the middle later.
Fold along all the score lines. Where it’s a double wall fold the second section in the opposite
direction upon itself.
Tuck the small flaps on each end BEHIND the side wall (longer) sections, so the flaps are on the
outside of the card well. Glue the small flaps down to the walls, creating the card well area.
Do this for both of the Card Well templates.
For Card Well #1 ONLY, glue the right side long wall down over itself as well as the bottom side
small wall. These are the perimeter of the insert and do not attach to anything else.
For Card Well #2, glue down the bottom side small wall to itself.
Top Well #1 and Top Well #2
Take the template sections that look like this:
Similar to the card wells, fold along the score lines, glue the small tabs on the backside of the
long walls, creating a small solid well.
The topmost double wall on both top wells, can be glued down on top of itself as these are on
the perimeter of the insert and do not attach to anything.
For Top Well #1, glue the right most double wall down on top of itself. For Top Well #2, this is
left unglued.
Side Well
Take the template for the side well and fold along the score lines, again in the same manner as
the Top and Card Wells.
This time the small tabs are on the long side and will tuck behind the small walls.
The long edge with the divided wall will be the right side, the solid wall opposite is the left
side. Glue down the left, top and bottom double walls upon themselves.
Assembling the Insert
You should now have five assembled sections as follows:
Card Well #1 – single thickness long wall on the left, unglued double wall on the top.
Card Well #2 – single thickness long wall on the left, unglued double walls top and right.
Top Well #1 – single thickness short wall on the left and bottom.
Top Well #2 – single thickness short wall on the left and bottom. Unglued short wall on the
right.
Side Well – unglued, split double wall on the right.
1. Take Card Well #1 and Top Well #1 and glue together so the bottom single wall of the
Top Well is sandwiched between the top double wall of the Card Well.
2. Repeat Step #1 using Card Well #2 and Top Well #2
3. Arrange the three sections side by side as shown:
Note: middle section the bottom flap should have already been glued down (sorry!)
4. Glue the flaps of the center section to the right section, sandwiching the single walls of
the right between the double walls of the center.
