SUMMARY INSPECTION REPORT

Overhaul service cooling tower water pump OMEGA 350-510 A (PUMP P-53 101A) from PT Kidung Perdana
Indonesia refer to SO. 18000234. The Overhaul service pump unit at PT Torishima Guna Engineering.

Pump Overhaul Service Flow Process :


1 Incoming (Pic : PPC, Workshop, QC)
The cooling tower water pump OMEGA 350-510 A ( PUMP P-53 101A ) from PT Kidung Perdana was
arrival on workshop PT Torishima Guna Engineering by trucktransfort, the condition of some parts pumps
has been dismantled from site.
Perform Visual incoming inspection, pump type and general pump condition before overhaul.
Pum type and identification, as follows :
Model : OMEGA 350 - 510 A
Serial number : 1- 661- 655569 / 1-2
Manufacture : KSB
Tag No. : P-53 101A SUNGAI GERONG

2 Dismantling (Pic : PPC, Workshop, QC)


Performed dismantle of the pump as follow : remove all bolt bearing housing, removing bearing housing
form lower casing, removing bearing form bearing housing, removing rotor assy from lower casing,
removing impellers, shaft protecting sleeve from shaft and coupling from shaft.
And after dismantling all parts and casing pump perform mechanical cleaning.

3 Investigation of Pump ( PIC. QC, Engineering )


● Visual inspection method was done for investigation of the pump.
● Outside and inside micrometer, vernier caliper, height gauge, dial gage, dept gauge were used to
measure all pumps part.
● Perform reverse engineering based on measurement inspection result of parts condition
● Make a list of all investigasion pump parts based on measurement inspection result of parts pump.
● Drawing of the parts for fabrication and recondition parts

4 FabricationParts And Reconditon (Pic : PPC, Workshop, QC, Engineering)


Based on the overall results of the pump insvestigation decided to do a replacement or recondition of
pump parts, as follows:
● Replace parts :
● Shaft ● Shaft Sleeve
● Ball Bearing (6317C3) ● Sleeve adapter bearing
● Ball Bearing ● Case wear ring
● All O-ring ● Key Coupling
● Oil Seals ● Key Impeller
● Lock Nut ● Key sleeve
● Lock Washer ● Deflector

● Recondition or repair parts :


● Recondition upper and lower casing with coating and final process with machining methode
● Recondition impeller with rebuild weld and rafting proces on wear ring area position
● Repair bearing housing with Rafting process
● Repair cover bearing and bearing housing with rethread and rafting on surface
● Repair stuffing box DE and NDEwith coating and final with rafting process

5. Balancing (Pic : Workshop, QC, Engineering)


Performed balancing rotor set using balancing machine (Schenck) with the following result ; in tolerance
Which is lower then the dynamic of balance reference user defined Performed balancing rotor set using
balancing machine (Schenck)
● Reference To Standard API 610
● Performed dynamic balancing for rotor assy using balancing machine (Schenck) with the following,
result ;
● Plane 1 ===> Ur1 : 171.80 gram.mm ( 0.859 gram )
● Plane 2 ===> Ur2 : 188.60 gram.mm ( 0.943 gram )
Which is lower then the dynamic of Allowable Residual Unbalance reference Umax 418.33 gram.mm
(2.09 gram)
● After final dynamic balancing for rotor, then perform correction unbalance with six point methode
result ; In tolerance

6. Water Pressure Test / Hydrostatic ( Pic. Workshop )


Perform inspection for leaks of the pump casing :
● Water pressure test : 2 Bar
● Tested with : Clean water
● Holding time : 15 minutes
● Result : No lekas

7. Assembling ( Pic. Workshop, QC, Engineering )


Before assy all pump parts, visual and dimensional inspection were done to make sure whole parts
condition already inspected. Result : OK
The Pump assembly process, as follows :
● Installed rotor asssy on casing pump
● Installed upper casing on lower casing and tightened all bolt casing
● Installed coupling dan tightened nut coupling

8. Painting Pump ( Pic. Workshop )


The pump unit was painted light Blue colour.

9. Final Inspection ( Pic. PPC, Workshop, QC, Engineering )


● After assembling, visual inspection for the overall condition of the pump was done, the result; OK
