1.3 Installation Environment Checking

1.3.1 Safety Installation Site Selection

Avoid to install mBS1100 in the following environments such as high temperature and
dust, harmful gas, inflammable and explosive, voltage instability and high noise
environment. It is strictly prohibited to install mBS1100 water seepage, dripping and
condensation areas.

Before installation, technicians should also consider the climate, hydrology, geology,
seismic, electric power, transportation and other factors in order to meet the installation
requirement.

1.3.2 Temperature and Humidity Requirement

Working Temperature and Humidity

Items Range Typical Value

Standard Working Temperature -35℃~55℃ 25℃

Humidity 0% - 100% 5% -100%

1.3.3 Power Supply Requirement

BaiCells-mBS1100 applies 48V DC power supply. In order to ensure the safety

requirements and reliable operations, we offer the following suggestions:

 Anti-Static Requirement.
 Circuit and the whole equipment could be damaged once the electrostatic over a
certain value.
 Install BaiCells-mBS 1100 in the clean, proper temperature and humidity conditions.

1.3.4 Grounding and Lightning Protection

BaiCells mBS-1100 is embedded a build-in lightning protection device. In order to

achieve lightning protection, the technicians need to put the yellow and green

grounding protection cable into GDN through M6 screw for connection, the tin

welding anticorrosive processing is required and put those to the ground

connection. Protective grounding able area must be no less than 6mm2 and also

the cable should keep short and no coiling evolved. Refer Figure 1-6

2 Base Station Installation

BaiCells-mBS is an outdoor eNB and it supports holding pole approach to install.

2.1 Installation Procedure

As a wireless device, the installation process is highly related to the signal coverage. The
equipment requires the professional technicians to install. Refer the Figure 2-1

Figure 2-1 Installation Precedure

2.2 Install Process

mBS1100 base station applies holding pole approach to install.

2.2.1 Support Installation

1) Find the base station and its accessories, put the support at 2 sides of the base

station using 2 M6*12 socket head cap screw, refer the Figure 2-2

Now we start to install the RF Antenna. The outdoor antenna contains: omni antenna and
directional antenna.

2.2.4 Omni Antenna Installation

Notes for Outdoor Antenna Installation

 Omni antenna requires the holding pole diameter range as 35mm~50mm, normally
the holding pole are made of from an 50mm diameter round steel.

 Make sure the omni antenna on the holding pole and the hold hoop in bottom of the
antenna are paralleled.

 Ensure the lightning arrester is in the 45 degree angle protection area as refer in
Figure2-10. Normally avoid to use weld to install the lightning arrester and no metal
objects can be shown in 1 meter range. Put the lightening arrester in holding pole
which between two omni antenna and ensure the top of the antenna in the protection
area of lightening arrester.

Figure 2-10 Omni Antenna Installation

Due to the environmental restrictions of the lightening arrester installation, the
technicians can also install the omni antenna as shown in figure 2-11, ensure the
distance between the holding pole and antenna is on less than 1 meter.

Hold pole installation on the roof of the building. Wired the lightning arrester on the top of
the holding pole and then put the directional antenna on the holding pole using holding
pole support. Ensure the hole is vertical with the ground. If there is a wainscot in the roof
and its height is no less than 1.2 meter, the technicians could put fixed the holding pole
on the wall use by the expansion screw, then put the antenna fixed on the holding pole
as in Figure 2-15. If the wainscot height is less than 1.2 meter, the technicians need to
put one fixed position of holding pole on the wall use the expansion screw and make
another fixed position of holding pole connection with the building and then apply the
antenna fixed on the holding pole using the holding pole support. As in the Figure 2-15

Figure 2-15 Directional Antenna Installation

If there is no wainscot in the roof of the building, the technicians could use expansion
