PXG Founder and Purple Heart Veteran Bob Parsons to Receive Patriot Award

at VGA National Championship

Pinehurst, NC, November 01, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) announced
today that businessman, philanthropist and Vietnam combat veteran Bob Parsons will receive the
organization's Patriot Award at the 2018 VGA National Championship tournament being held at the
famed Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif., Nov. 4-7.

Parsons is the founder of the global domain name registrar GoDaddy and is widely known for his
charitable work. He is currently the CEO and founder of YAM Worldwide, which is home to his
entrepreneurial ventures in the fields of motorcycles, golf, real estate, marketing, innovation and
philanthropy.

In 1969, as a U.S. Marine Corps rifleman in Delta Company of the 1st Battalion, 26th Marine Regiment
in the Quang Nam Province of Vietnam, Parsons was wounded in action. He was medically evacuated
and spent two months recovering at a Naval hospital. He was later awarded the Combat Action Ribbon,
Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, and the Purple Heart.

Parsons cites the leadership and organizational skills learned in the Marine Corps as the keys to his
success in life and business. Today, among his 14 ventures, Parsons owns the world's largest
Harley-Davidson dealership, has founded Scottsdale National Golf Club, and created Parsons Xtreme
Golf (PXG), a high-end, custom golf club manufacturing company.

In 2012, Parsons and his wife Renee founded The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, serving nonprofit
organizations primarily in the greater Phoenix area. They are active members of The Giving Pledge and
also notable supporters of the Semper Fi Fund, which provides resources for combat wounded, critically
ill and injured veterans and their families.

“We are extremely proud to recognize Bob Parsons as the 2018 Patriot Award winner,” said VGA
President Joshua Peyton, a retired Army Captain and Army Ranger. “His service in combat, combined
with his professional accomplishments and philanthropy, epitomize the spirit of the veteran community,
and we look forward to honoring him at the Olympic Club.” Past winners of the Patriot Award include
Dan Alarik, CEO of Gruntstyle (2017); Justin Verlander, Houston Astros World Series MVP (2016) and
Ray Allen, NBA Hall of Fame inductee (2015).

Once again putting the service, sacrifice and patriotism of its participants in the national spotlight, the
VGA National Championship will feature a field of 90 regional winners that qualified over the course of
the year. Like the qualifying events, the National Championship has four divisions of competition:
Veteran, Female Veteran, Combat Wounded and Family, with each division being split up by
handicapped flights. Wounded veterans and Purple Heart recipients will make up approximately half the
field, and competitors will range from enlisted personnel to two-star generals.

The VGA's mission is to enhance the lives of veterans and their family members through the camaraderie

and sportsmanship of golf. Since its inception in 2014, the VGA has hosted over 1,200 golf tournaments
and more than 80,000 rounds of golf nation-wide for Veterans and their family members. Membership is
open to all U.S. veterans - wounded, non-wounded, disabled, active duty and retired - as well as to their
family members, including parents, siblings and dependents who are at least 18 years old.
