Criteria fixed for Appointment of Medical Superintendent

Question Reply
a) the criteria of the Health Department: As per the Rules of Jammu and
appointment for the Kashmir Health and Family Welfare (Gazetted) Services
post of Medical Recruitment Rules, notified vide SRO-325 of 2013 dated
Superintendent with 12.07.2013, the criteria of appointment for the Post of
qualification as per Medical Superintendents is 100% by promotion from Class-
rules; III, Categories A,B,C and D having at least three years
substantive service as such. The detail of categories is given
as under:
A (Chief Medical Officers)
B (Superintendents of Hospitals)
C (Assistant Director of Health Services/Divisional Nutrition
Officer/Controller of Stores/Principal, Regional Family
Planning and
D (Director TB Demonstration Centre).

Medical Education Department: As per the J&K Medical


Education (Gaz) Service Recruitment rules, 1979, the
eligibility for the appointment of the post of Medical
Superintendent is by promotion from Deputy Medical
Superintendent having five (05) years of experience as
Deputy Medical Superintendent.

Indian System of Medicines: As per the J&K ISM(G)


Services Recruitment Rules 2006, the eligibility for the
appointment of Medical Superintendent (Ayd.) is 100% by
promotion from Class-IV category A i.e. Medical Officer
(Ayurvedic) from amongst the persons possessing Bachelor
degree in (Ayd.) recognized by CCIM and having
regular/diploma in Hospital Administration duly recognized
by MCI/CCIM/Universities with at least five (05) years
service in that category.

are required to possess post graduation degree i.e. MHA.
