Abstract A new species of maerid Amphipoda, Ceradocus (Krapp-Schickel 2009). Of the 40 valid species, only
adangensis, collected from the coral reef at Adang Island in C. mizani Lim, Azman and Othman, 2010 and
the Andaman Sea, is described. C. adangensis is characterized C . a n d a m a n e n s i s Wo n g k a m h a e n g , C o l e m a n a n d
by its male large gnathopod 2 palm oblique with a Pholpunthin, 2013 have been recorded from the Peninsula
subrectangular distomedial elevation with 5 robust setae, of Malaysia. The former was collected from the eastern
deeply cleft telson, telsonic lobes separated, each lobe with 4 coast of Malaysia and the latter from the Andaman Sea of
apical robust setae and telsonic lobes not reaching halfway Thailand (Lim et al. 2010; Wongkamhaeng et al. 2013).
