2018 CHS Apply to College Day

All seniors are invited to participate in this year’s Apply to College Day on Wednesday,
November 14th.
. This event gives students the opportunity to apply to the college(s) of their choice. Several
college volunteers and CHS staff will be available all day to assist as needed.

In preparation for the event:

1. Students need to have a college in mind that will be a good match for them.
2. It is important to check the college website(s) to determine what testing is required for
admission. If a school requires the SAT or ACT for admission, students will be required
to at least register for a test (www.collegeboard.org for SAT
andwww.actstudent.org for ACT) in order to add that information to their college
application.
Test scores are not required in order to apply to college, but they are a part of the process
and must be sent to the college(s) as soon as they are available. Students should list the
college(s) they are applying to on their test registration and scores will be sent by the
testing company.

3. All colleges have a fee to apply. Unless a college decides to waive their application fee
on November, 14th, you will need to pay. Since these applications are online, students
will need to pay with a debit or credit card. If you do not feel comfortable using a card
here at school, you can still participate. You will need to save your completed
application(s) and enter the payment information later at home. We will let you know
before November 14th if colleges decide to waive their application fee. Many Georgia
colleges use www.gafutures.org for their college applications. You will need to go
to this site prior to November 14th and create an account. We will provide you the
directions once we receive your registration.
