Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited, (IFFCO), is the world’s largest fertiliser

cooperative federation based in India which is registered as a Multistate Cooperative


Society. IFFCO has 40,000 member cooperatives

The number of cooperative societies associated with IFFCO - 39,800 at present. Indian
registered on November 3, 1967

Initially, IFFCO commissioned an ammonia - urea complex at Kalol


NPK/DAP plant at Kandla (Gujarat in 1975).
Another ammonia - urea complex was set up at Phulpur in the state of Uttar Pradesh in
1981.
The ammonia - urea unit at Aonla was commissioned in 1988.
Recently, IFFCO has acquired an NPK/DAP and Phosphoric acid fertiliser unit at
Paradeep in Orissa in September 2005.

Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd. (RCF)is a PSU (Public Sector Undertaking) in
India under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India based in
Mumbai..

RCF has pioneered the manufacture of basic chemicals such as Methanol, Sodium
Nitrate, Sodium Nitrite, Ammonium bicarbonate, Methylamines, Dimethyl Formamide,
Dimethylacetamide in India.

Two of the units of RCF have been awarded the ISO-14001 certification for
environmental systems

The company produces fertilizers like urea,DAP and special nutrients and chemicals
under the brand name of Mangala.
The company was started by government of Karnataka.The company's management
was subsequently sold to Vijay Mallya's UB Group during tenure of Veerendra Patil's as
Karnataka's chief minister.

Hindustan Insecticides Limited (HIL) is a Government of India enterprise under the
Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
It was incorporated in March 1954 in order to start production of DDT for the National
Malaria Eradication Programme.
Since then its product range has expanded to include Insecticides, Herbicides,
Weedecides, and Fungicides.[1]
HIL is the world's largest producer of DDT. The company has three manufacturing units,
located at Udyogamandal, near Cochin (Southern India) and Rasayani near
Mumbai(Western India) and Bathinda in Punjab (Northern India).
