Brilliant performance

Akril is a highly-engineered polymer, enhanced with colour, that

offers a new source of design inspiration.

This durable panel was originally developed as a cost effective

alternative to painted glass - but its qualities of versatility,
flexibility and workability let it stand alone in all kinds of domestic,
commercial and display situations.

Having half the weight and being up to 40% more cost effective
than painted glass is a great start - but Akril has even more to
offer. Its ready availability and ease of installation reduces lead
times and delays. It boasts a higher heat distortion point than
conventional polymers (up to 100º Celsius)* allowing even more
applications. To top it all off, scratches can be polished out. That’s
brilliant.

at a glance
The newly designed “off the shelf” pre-packed Akril panels are
the ideal solution for kitchen or bathroom splashbacks.

• N
 o long lead times, special tools or skills are required to work
it (as with conventional glass).

• A
 kril is lightweight, comes with a 10 year UV warranty and is
environmentally friendly - recyclable / lower energy than glass
to produce.

• C
 ut-outs, Power Points, and Trimming to suit height
and width are all easily achievable on site, with standard
handyman tools.

• A
 kril is simply fixed to the wall with a high quality neutral -
cure glass and glazing silicone.
When installing any panels to wet areas, a parameter silicone
seal is required to stop any water affecting the specialised
coating.

*Akril is not designed to be used behind the cooktop. We strongly suggest using a stainless steel back panel or tiles in its place.
