This unit will assess the capabilities of the student to explain the need (i.e., background and issues) for
strategic quality and systems management in organization and develop as well as evaluate
strategic quality and systems management change plan. This assessment will apply strategic
quality and systems management theories to meet the requirements and expectations of each
learning outcomes of the course.
Scenario
You are the Senior Manager of any other company of your choice. Attempt the following tasks:
As a new employee you need to understand the role of operations management and the importance of managing
quality within the organization in order to implement or improve quality standard. To complete this task, you need to
prepare a formal report: a. Explaining the importance of quality and operations management in achieving
organizational objectives. (AC 1.1, 2.1) b. Evaluating the success of existing quality and operations management
processes in meeting the company’s overall strategic management objectives. (AC 1.2, 2.2)
Having evaluated the organisation’s quality and operations management, a plan for strategic change has to be
considered to resolve the current situation as presented in Task 1. a. Identify the degree of change necessary and create
a plan for a strategic quality change to improve organizational performance (AC 3.1) b. Define the necessary
resources, tools and monitoring system to support the business processes in the strategic quality change (AC 3.2, 3.4)
c. Evaluate the wider implications of the change to the organisation focusing on how it can achieve total quality
management (AC 3.3)
In this task, you will need to implement the strategic quality change you have designed in task 2. (AC 4.1) a. Embed a
quality culture in the organisation to ensure continuous monitoring and development (AC 4.2) b. Monitor the
implementation of the change and how the organisation responded to the change (AC 4.3) c. Evaluate the outcomes of
the change and provide your own recommendations to improve the strategic quality change to align with
organizational objectives. (AC 5.1, 5.2)

Assignments should be approximately 3000 words in length using fonts Times New Roman or Arial, 12 as font size
and 1 ½ spacing.
The work must be referenced using the 'American Psychological Association (APA)’ format. The references in the
