Name of The 3rd UST College of Nursing Conference Programme “DISASTER RISK REDUCTION AND
Conference CLIMATE CHANGE MITIGATION; PLANS, PREPARATION, & COLLABORATIVE STRATEGIES”

Context The faculty members are one of the most important resources of any higher educational
institution. The three fold functions of a faculty member include teaching, research and
extension. Each faculty member is personally and professionally responsible for the
enhancement of her/his skills, development of his/her competencies and growth in career
on whatever field of the profession where he/she belongs.
In this light, the development of the human resources in any organization is not only a
responsibility of the faculty member. The support of the organization where an employee/
faculty is affiliated, is warranted through the provision of opportunities to participate in
continuing professional development programs and activities. How the organization value
the quality of its faculty as an asset and as a contributing partner in pursuing the
organization's goal and objectives will commensurate to the extended support that the
administration and the school administrators can provide.
 Objectives After the attendance to this conference, I intend to contribute to this university and
college by:
1. Representing the College of Nursing in a National Assembly of Nurses in accordance to its
aim of increasing the awareness in the issues of disaster risk reduction, climate change
mitigation, and such. By sending a faculty member, this is reflective of the organization's
adherence to CvSU quality policy and mission.
2. Become updated and informed with the issues of disaster risk reduction and climate
change mitigation, develop initiatives ad collaboration among different sectors in the
society, develop of disaster resilience programs and join in the rebuilding efforts in Marawi
which can be shared, recommended and adopted in CvSU CON for the college's quality
improvement and assurance.
3. Initiate linkages to other university's or agencies to whom we can partner for the
implementation of the revised BSN curriculum, extension or research partnerships.
4. Relevant information obtained from the attendance to the sessions in the conference can
be re-echoed in the College of Nursing faculty members to enhance their awareness about
disaster risk reduction and climate change mitigation which can be beneficial for the
enhancement of the BS Nursing curriculum Outcome-based Education on innovative
strategies to improve existing teaching-leaming activities and teachers /student's
competencies.

Outcomes It is expected that as a participant, I will submit Certificate of Appearance, Post- Conference
Report, and the Official Receipt of the registration fee for reimbursement of the official
travel expenses. Re-echo of the conference's sessions which highlighted on improvement of
academic practices will be conducted during the faculty meeting.
