one of aluminum. The wires also support a load P acting at the midpoint of the bar. The
diameter of the steel and aluminum wires is dsteel = 0.125 in. and daluminum = 0.1875 in.,
respectively. The allowable stress in the steel and aluminum wires is σ steel, allowable = 20,000 psi
