Strokes in young adults are uncommon.
However, strokes in young adults are a
large public health burden because
they can result in a marked decrease in
quality of life and can stymie an
individual’s economic productivity.
I explored several papers which
investigated risk factors for stroke in
the young. Although dyslipidemia,
smoking, and hypertension were
established factors, there were several
factors which hadn’t been extensively
explored. I defined parameters for
these risk factors.
