A VERY GOOD MORNING TO THE HEADMISTRES, JUDGES, TIME

KEEPER, TEACHERS AND FRIENDS. TODAY I WANT TO TELL YOU A

STORY AND THE TITTLE IS:

The Princess of Gunung Ledang

Many years ago, Malacca was ruled by Sultan Mahmud Shah.

He was much said when his wife suddenly passed away leaving

behind their son, Raja Ahmad.

Years went by and he became sadder. One night, a beautiful

princess appeared in his dream. The princess said, "I am the

Princess of Gunung Ledang.” Before he could say anything, the

princess vanished.

The next morning, he thought about the princess. He had fallen

in love with her and wanted to marry her. The Sultan sent his

officials to see the Princess with his marriage proposal. When they

arrived at the peak of Gunung Ledang, they saw a beautiful

garden.
They met an old woman who was actually the Princess in

disguise. The old woman said, “Tell your Sultan that the Princess

will marry him if he can fulfill certain conditions." "What are they?"

they asked. “Build a bridge joining Gunung Ledang and Malacca

and collect a bowl of his son's blood."

Being blinded by love, the Sultan agreed to the conditions. His

people suffered hardship and loss of life in building the bridge.

One night, when everyone was asleep, the Sultan took a knife

and a bowl to collect his son's blood. The Princess suddenly

appeared and rebuked the Sultan. “How could you be so selfish

and cruel in harming your people and your son? I will not marry

such as heartless man!" So saying, she disappeared. The Sultan felt

ashamed regret.
