HOW TO INSTALL/UNINSTALL MACSTARS W 4.0

The new MACSTARS W release 4.0 has been completely updated in order to be compatible with the most recent
versions of Windows and MS Office; for this reason the previous versions are no longer compatible with the new one.
It is therefore very important to remind that:
1 - The files created with the new Rel. 4.0 cannot be opened by the previous Macstars versions
2 - The files created with old versions can be opened by the 4.0, but once saved with the new version they are no
longer compatible with earlier versions.
3 - The new MACSTARS W Rel. 4.0 must be installed and uninstalled using a new setup.exe file which is different from
the one used in previous releases, therefore:

BEFORE INSTALLING THE 4.0 YOU MUST UNINSTALL VERSION 3.0

To uninstall from your computer a previous Macstars version, you have to use the “old” setup.exe program and NOT
the new one, that is the file setup.exe available for Macstars 4.0.

Once the previous Macstars version has been uninstalled you can install MACSTARS W 4.0 using its own setup.exe.
If you need to re-install an old Macstars version, you have to uninstall Macstars 4.0 using its own setup.exe and then
proceed with the installation of the previous version.

COME INSTALLARE/DISINSTALLARE MACSTARS W 4.0

Il nuovo programma MACSTARS W release 4.0 è stato aggiornato completamente a livello di linguaggio di
programmazione e quindi le versioni precedenti non saranno più compatibili con la nuova. In particolare sono da
tenere ben presenti alcuni suggerimenti per evitare che l’incompatibilità tra le due versioni crei problemi all’utente:
1 – I file di verifica creati con la nuova versione 4.0 non sono compatibili con le precedenti versioni
2 – I file di verifica creati con le versioni precedenti alla 4.0 sono compatibili con la versione nuova, ma una volta aperti
con la nuova versione e salvati non sono più compatibili con le versioni precedenti.
3 – La nuova versione MACSTARS W 4.0 può essere installata e disinstallata mediante un nuovo programma di
installazione setup.exe, che non è compatibile con quello delle versioni precedenti, da cui ne deriva la necessità di
procedere come segue.

PRIMA DI INSTALLARE LA VERSIONE 4.0 OCCORRE DISINSTALLARE LA VERSIONE PRECEDENTE

Per disinstallare le versioni MACSTARS W precedenti occorre utilizzare il File SetUp.exe relativo, cioè quello della
vecchia versione.
In seguito è quindi possibile installare MACSTARS W Rel. 4.0 mediante il proprio programma SetUp.exe.
Qualora sia necessario re-installare una vecchia versione di Macstars, occorre dapprima disinstallare il MACSTARS W
4.0 mediante il proprio programma di SetUp.exe e, successivamente, procedere ad un a nuova installazione delle
versioni precedenti come sempre fatto.
