I’d like to tell you about Athens, which is the capital and largest city of Greece.

It’s in the north

of Greece and it boasts an illustrious history that stretches back more than 3,000 years. The
population of municipality of Athens is 664 046, but its metropolitan area is much larger and
comprises a population of 3.8 million.
Athens is famous for its history and its architecture because the city flourished during
classical antiquity and was the birthplace of Socrates, Pericles, and Sopáosles. Besides
Athens has incorporated architectural styles ranging from Greco
Roman and Neoclassical to modern times.
Athens has also several leisure and cultural possibilities for tourists, the can visit
archaeolgical sites such as the Acropolis, the two Agoras, the Ceramic and the Temple of
Olympia Zeus. In Addition, Athen organised cultural events, Athens is home to 148 theatrical
stages, more than any other city in the world, including the ancient Odeon of Herodes Atticus,
home to the Athens Festival, which runs from May to October each year.
To conclude, I will once again underline the fact that Athens is the best Capital of Culture
as a result of every mythical event that has happened there.
