yang berjudul Procedure ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembahasan mendetail

BAB I PENDAHULUAN
1.1 Latar Belakang Masalah
Bahasa inggris merupakan salah satu mata pelajaran yang wajib
dipelajari didalam kurikulum 2013. Pada pelajaran ini terdapat materi
procedure, yaitu sebuah teks yang berisi tentang menggambarkan bagaimana
sesuatu dilakukan atau dicapai melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah yang
benar. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa sesuatu pasti terjadi melalui sebuah proses
yang langkah-langkahnya dapat diketahui melalui percobaan maupun
observasi. Maka untuk menuliskan langkah-langkah tersebut digunakanlah
procedure text untuk kemudian dipublikasikan atau digunakan sebagai
panduan untuk orang lain supaya bisa melakukan hal yang sama
menggunakan langkah-langkah yang sudah ada.
1.2 Pembatasan Masalah
Dalam karya tulis ini pembahasan hanya dibatasi satu hal saja yaitu Procedure
Text. Hal itu dimaksudkan agar pembahasan lebih mendalam.
1.3 Perumusan Masalah
Ada beberapa rumusan masalah yang penulis tulis dalam karya tulis ini,
yaitu :
1. Bagaimana keragaman procedure text
2. Bagaimana penggunaan procedure text dalam kehidupan sehari hari
1.4 Tujuan Penulisan
Ada beberapa tujuan penulisan yang penulis tulis dalam karya tulis ini, yaitu :
1. Mengetahui keragaman jenis procedure text
2. Mengetahi penggunaan procedure text dalam kehidupan sehari hari
1.5 Metode Pengumpulan Data
Karya tulis yang berjudul procedure text, penulis menggunakan
metode kepustakaan. Yang dimaksud dengan metode kepustakaan yaitu
penulis mengumpulkan beberapa buku, buku tersebut dianalisis disimpulkan
diambil hal-hal yang pokok disesuaikan dengan judul tersebut, ditambah
dengan beberapa sumber dari internet yang bersangkutan dengan judul diatas.
1.6 Sistematika Penulisan

Dalam karya tulis ini penulis membuat sistematika penulisan yang digunakan
sebagai kerangka pembuatan karya tulis ini, agar pokok permasalahan tidak keluar
dari tema yang ditentukan sebelumnya. Adapun urutan pembahasan dibagi menjadi
empat bab sebagai berikut :
Pada Bab I Pendahuluan, terdiri atas enam subbab, yaitu : Latar Belakang
Masalah, Pembatasan Masalah, Perumusan Masalah, Tujuan Penulisan, Metode
Pengumpulan Data, dan Sistematika.
Pada Bab II Procedure, terdiri atas empat subbab, yaitu : Pengertian
Procedure,
Tujuan Procedure, Struktur Procedure dan Ciri-ciri Bahasa Procedure.
Pada Bab III Soal dan Pembahasan
Pada Bab IV Penutup, terdiri atas dua subbab, yaitu : Simpulan dan Saran.

BAB II PROCEDURE
2.1 Pengertian Procedure
Teks prosedur adalah teks yang menjelaskan cara membuat atau
melakukan sesuatu melalui serangkaian tindakan atau langkah. Langkah-
langkah tersebut harus dilakukan dengan runtut. Hal itu berbeda dengan tips.
Tips dapat dilakukan tanpa harus mengikuti urutan. (Marta Yuliani, 2011)
Prosedur adalah teks yang digunakan untuk menyusun atau
menjelaskan bagaimana sesuatu diapai melalui serangkaian tindakan atau
langkah. (RDJ Hurustiyati RNK, S.Pd. ,2013)
2.2 Tujuan Procedure
Procedure adalah teks yang dirancang untuk menggambarkan
bagaimana sesuatu dicapai melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah-langkah,
sehingga sangat jelas tujuan procedure yaitu untuk menunjukkan bagaimana
sesuatu dilakukan melalui urutan langkah yang memungkinkan pembaca
untuk mencapai tujuan dan mencapai hasil yang sama dalam seperti yang
tercantum dalam procedure.
2.3 Struktur Procedure
Procedure memiliki struktur susunan umum atau generic structure.
Berikut ini generic stucture dari procedure :
1. Tujuan ( Aim/Goal ) : Sesuatu yang akan diraih atau didapat (tujuan
akhir setelah melakukan instruksi)
2. Material ( Materials ) : Daftar bahan atau materi yang dibutuhkan
untuk melakukan suatu prosedur atau langkah-
langkah untuk mencapai tujuan yang akan diraih
atau didapat.
3. Langkah-langkah (steps) : Daftar urutan instruksi/aktivitas yang harus
dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan dalam urutan
langkah yang benar.
4. Hasil Akhir (Result) : Hasil dari serangkaian instruksi yang sudah
diselesaikan.

2.4 Ciri-ciri Bahasa Procedure


Beberapa ciri-ciri bahasa yang digunakan dalam penulisan procedure adalah:
1. Menggunakan Simple Present Tense dalam bentuk perintah (Imperative)
Contoh: Remove the ice cream from the freezer, transfer the ice cream to a
covered storage, mix the spice-mixture with the eggs.

HOW TO MAKE SCENTED CANDLES
Making coloured and scented candles is really quick and simple. What's more,
you'll save so much money. If making candles is easy, why do you ever buy one
from a shop? What you need in making candles are wax, moulds, wick, dye
discs, essential oils, and a double boiler. All these materials are available from
craft shops. Or if you do not want to buy them, you can improvise with an old
saucepan, Pyrex jug, or even a sturdy can, in a pot of water. After providing the
materials, follow this procedure or instruction in making candles!

First of all, melt the wax. All wax has a flash point, so to prevent it from
bursting into flames; you must melt it in a double boiler, with water at the
bottom of the pan.
Then, prepare the mould with the wick. Thread the wick through the mould and
make sure that you leave a good few centimeters sticking out of the hole in the
bottom.
After that, add the scent. If you want a scented candle, add a few drops of
essential oil to the melted wax. You can use any essential oil you like, as long as
it doesn't contain water.
Next step, pour the wax into the mould. Try and tip the wax into the mould
quickly, all in one go, to minimize spillage and air bubbles.
Then, release the bubbles and top it up. Releasing the air bubbles will
eventually make the candle sink, so you will need to top it up with more melted
wax.
Finally, remove it from the mould. After four or five hours, the candle can be
taken out of its mould.
Your candle is now ready for display. Remember, you must always leave it for a
day before lighting it.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in wok; add chopped onions and stir-fry until onions turn a nice

BAB IV PENUTUP
4.1 Simpulan
Procedure adalah teks yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan cara
membuat atau melakukan sesuatu yang diraih melalui serangkaian proses.
Procedure harus dipelajari karena merupakan salah satu bab yang diujikan
dalam Ujian Nasional mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Procedure juga terdapat
dalam kehidupan sehari-hari kita.
4.2 Saran
Procedure merupakan teks yang sangat mudah dijumpai di kehidupan
sehari-hari, oleh karena itu pembelajaran mengenai procedure perlu
diperdalam dan lebih mendetail lagi.
