and fabrication of process and utility piping systems for use in GMS Madura BD field development
project. Also included are pertinent notes related to installation, operation, or safety.
Whenever a difference exists between this specification and the drawings, the drawings shall govern.
No deviation shall be made from this specification without written authorization from EPC Contractor
C
Piping Engineering.
When the terms "Authorized" or "Authorization" are used in this specification, it shall mean authorization
from EPC Contractor Piping Engineering.
1.3. Definitions
Company Husky – CNOOC MaduraLtd. (HCML) as the ultimate user and owner or the
authorized representative of company.
Purchaser: The organization that issues the purchase order and specifications to the
Vendor. The Purchaser is Husky – CNOOC MaduraLtd. (HCML) appointed
agent
Contractor The party that carries out all or part of the design, engineering,
procurement, construction, commissioning or management of a project or
operation of a facility. The Principal may undertake all or part of the duties of
the Contractor.
Vendor The Manufacturer of the equipment or the Manufacturer’s agent with the unit
responsibility.
1.4. Terminology
Piping systems in this specification are designed in accordance with the applicable ASME Piping code
(ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.8, etc…) as specified in the individual Piping Line Class (es).
Piping systems designed to ASME B31.3 are categorized as “Normal Fluid Service” unless otherwise
indicated in the Piping Line Class (es).
Corrosion Data Survey published by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) MR0103
and MR0175 may be used as a guideline in the selection of piping materials suitable for caustic, acids,
sour services, etc.
Unless otherwise specified, piping component wall thicknesses, specified in the individual line classes
or indicated on P&ID's or drawings, are based only on design considerations of pressure, temperature,
and allowances for corrosion, erosion, manufacturer's minus tolerance and any allowance for the depth
of threads or grooves.
Piping component wall thicknesses do not include additional thickness that may be required to
compensate for design considerations such as thermal loads due to restraints, live loads, hydraulic
shock, or loads and sources from other causes, all of which must be considered in the design of piping
systems. Increased pipe thickness required to account for acoustic or flow induced vibrations shall also
be considered in detail design. Increased wall thicknesses required for other design considerations
consideration
shall be indicated on the piping drawings during detail design by EPC Contractor and shall supersede
the Line Class.
Items specified or referenced by manufacturer and figure number are not intended to exclude items
offered by other manufacturers. Products made by reputable manufacturers and of comparable type,
quality, and characteristics may be submitted for Piping Engineering evaluation.
If VENDOR finds conflict between documents or has any doubts on specified requirements, these shall
be communicated immediately to COMPANY in writing. Work related aspects should not proceed until
u
VENDOR receives clarification from COMPANY in writing. Verbal communications shall not be
considered official.

a seat
test.
4. Secondary sealant systems shall not be used during body or seat leakage tests.
5. Valves subject to operation below 1.4 ºF shall be subject to low temperature acceptance testing in
addition to the standard production tests per the applicable design standards
6. Test valves shall be selected at random from the total lot of valves taking into account type, size
and pressure class. The total number of samples shall be 10% but with a minimum of one per
valve type.
9. In addition to the above tests valve torque to operate the valves at minimum design temperature
shall be recorded and reported against manufacturers design values.
Lap joint stub ends shall be used only where shown in the individual Line Class; they shall have the
same facing as specified for flanges in the applicable Line Class.
3.1.11. Fittings and Flanges
1. All carbon steel flanges and fittings shall be supplied in the normalized condition.
3.1.12. Bolting
