Supporting Statement

To Whom It May Concern,

It is with great pleasure that I provide a Reference Letter for Maryam Alshamsi, whose is
currently a colleague in my department. When Maryam was a HADEF (HCT Academy for
Developing Emirati Faculty), I mentor her for several courses during for the past three years.
During this time, I observe Maryam progressively become a confident and dedicated teacher.

When we would meet weekly Maryam would provide ideas and plans on how she would
incorporate her lessons with technology, hands-on activities, and projects assignment for the
students in our course. These strategies were executed by her when reviewing the material in
the course. Maryam has conducted workshops for our department by showing the faculty new
innovated ideas and software to help promote student’s success.

She is currently serving on the Determine One’s Committee (Special Needs) of which I am the
chairperson. I have had the privilege of working closely due to her position as the committee
secretary last year.

Maryam also extended her services to contribute to young children with disabilities in
Sharjah’s community; she coordinated she coordinated and collaborated with the with the
People of Determination administrators of the school, and members of the community to come
and join our activities for the Spring Festival.

It is in my opinion that Maryam would be able a great asset to participate in the Associate
Fellowship Program.
