Remove/install
1 Remove both Hall sensors on camshafts
2 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air Engine 274 in model 172
filter
3 Rotate engine at crankshaft center bolt in
direction of engine rotation to top dead center damper must be aligned with positioning edge
(ignition TDC) on cylinder 1
Check
4 Check basic setting of camshafts

The TDC marking on belt pulley/ vibration
on timing case cover.

The basic position of the camshafts is
checked by a visual inspection over the Hall
sensor openings on cylinder head cover (3).
To check the exhaust camshaft adjustment
the edge (1a) of the partial segment of the
segment disc (1) must be visible in the middle
in the Hall sensor opening (picture). To check
the intake camshaft adjustment the bearing
slot (2a) of the segment disc (2) must stand in
the middle in the Hall sensor opening (picture).
If the basic position is not correct
