Success Story of Muhammad Ashfaq

Mobile Repairing Training

Mr. Muhammad Ashfaq S/O Malik Allah Wasaya (Late) is living in a Village named Mandhal,
Pull Farooqabad with his wife, seven (7) children and mother at Tehsil Ahmadpur East, district
Bahawalpur. Like other people of the native area his family was also spending their life below
the poverty line. Due to lack of opportunities in the area Ashfaq tried his best to start a
business even he started a shop of mobile phone easy load. After a lot of hard work he was
unable to earn handsome
amount for the provision
of financial assistance to
his family.
He said that “When he
heard about SPPAP skill
development project
selected community
members for training
through the social
organizer team of NRSP.
He decided to learn mobile
repairing skills because there was no such facility of mobile repairing in his area and that’s why
he took initiative to be the part of this training program. Then a team of IRM came to his village
for screening and got all the necessary documents related to the training session and asked
about his consent to get training for 60 days.
The training center was established at his village level and mostly trainees were from the very
nearby area and few were from the other village and pick and drop facility was provided to
those trainees.

Their training was started Feb 15, 2016 and was completed on April 15, 2016. During 60 days
learning process, our instructor properly guided and taught us and makes all the things possible
to be a skillful person regarding mobile repairing.
“Ashfaq Stated” that He said that
after the completion of training,
business development team of IRM
came to him and motivated him to
start a Mobile Repairing Shop. After
the discussion and mutual consent
of his family he spent Rs.10,000/-
to purchase mobile repairing tools
and accessories. After 3 months of
starting the shop he purchased
more accessories and equipment of
Rs. 70,000/- from his earnings and
other amount borrowed from his
family and friends.
Before establishing the mobile repairing shop at Pull Farooqabad, Natve people were strained
to repair their mobile phones from Ahmadpur East and Bahawalpur City which are almost 45
kilometers far from the location. According to the local people of that area now, they have an
easy access to the mobile repairing shop at any time.
He said that with his daily earnings from the shop, he is bearing all the expenses of his five
school going children as well as bearing all the household expenses. Now a day Ashfaq is
earning Rs. 1000/- as an average income on daily basis from his mobile repairing shop and
hopeful to extend his business in future. He is assured to provide proper financial assistance to
his family.
"Ashfaq" expressed that he is very thankful to IFAD, SPPAP, Government of Punjab and IRM for
the provision of Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviationon Project in Tehsil Ahmadpur East to
make the people skillful.
