1.

Objective

To improve the reliability of the product and to promote the efficiency of the stress analysis review work, the
quality control for stress sketch and the verification of engineering data shall be performed.

2. The following shall be attached as electrical document format, attached to completed stress sketch.

- Vendor’s assembly drawing for equipment geometry.

- Vendor’s allowable load or initial movement at nozzle connection.
- Confirmation of acceptance letter submitted by SESA for higher load or any displacement
- Nozzle load evaluation sheet (and/or) local stress calculation result
- Calculation for expansion of skirt in vertical vessel, if necessary
- Weight information for special item such as valves, flanges or other in line items.
- External load (and/or) displacement such as PSV, slug force etc (and/or) tie-in point.
- Various information issued by stress engineer to confirm technical matters such as strength calculation of
concerning matters, etc.
- Any information to be considered as critical

3. Especially revised part as per the requirement of piping stress analysis, indicate the rev. stage on the
rhombus( ).

4. Stress sketch shall be prepared into two sections in the following manner.
(Refer to “STRESS-002_App.1 Stress Sketch Format.dwg”)

Data Section

a) “LINE COMMODITY” & “PIPE DATA” shall be reviewed by stress engineer..

b) “EQUIPMENT INFORMATION” & “NOZZLE ALLOWABLES” shall be reviewed by stress engineer.
c) Rev. status block, file name(run no. of CAESAR II), stress analysis rev. no. shall be filled in.
File name is determined from the largest line no. in the stress system.
ex) If the largest line no. is 40PZ-4039-12”-25SJIP-IH, Stress File Name is “40PZ-4039A”.
The last alphabet represents the stress analysis status.(A,B,C…)
d) If there is a special operating conditions to be analyzed in the system, the special block shall be
drawn at upper left hand corner, with description of the special operating condition(i.e. start-up,
shut down, regeneration, decoking, steam out, upset , two phase flow, and prone to vibration, etc.)
e) After completion of stress analysis and review, stress engineer to make comments on the
isometric, dated, singed off and send to piping engineer.

Graphic Section

The following information shall be marked on stress sketch.

a) Excessive thermal movement at support point or corner point

(To be marked with 10% additional margin to CAESAR II calculated displacement)
- Process area : CAESAR II calculated displacement 75mm or above
- Utility/offsite area : CAESAR II calculated displacement 100mm or above

b) Equipment diameter, wall thickness and anchor location.

c) Nozzle size and flange rating

d) Line size and spec break

e) Reference column(if available) and north arrow, if needed

f) Branch connection
The header line beyond branch connection shall be drawn to the first anchor point.
g) Support installed on platform or vessel clip with displacement, shall be drawn as below

h) “LIFT-OFF” comment shall be written in stress sketch, for the point with 3mm or above upward
displacement.

i) “BOTTOM GAP” comment shall be written in stress sketch, for the guide/directional stopper point
subjected to displacement in –Y direction.
(To be marked with min. 25mm additional margin to CAESAR II calculated displacement)
j) The special operating condition other than specified in “Line Commodity” : the special block shall be
drawn at upper left hand corner, with description of the special operating condition(i.e. start-up, shut
down, regeneration, decoking, steam out, upset , two phase flow, and prone to vibration, etc.)

k) Pipe attachments on isometric shall be specified other than pipe material.

l) Support marking : anchor, directional stop, guide, resting support, trunnion, spring support with node
number(As shown on the left side of the “Stress Sketch Format”)
