Does sleeping little at night, reflect poor performance academically in college students?

Sleeping is a problem I struggle with. Waking up in the middle of the night for no reason
has been an issue I have struggled with. In my free time I have walked around places like
Atkins library and the Student Union and noticed student burying their head in books.
