Grade-12 Students Supervise CKA Art Exhibit 2018 Christ the King Academy(CKA) grade 12 students, brought the
value of arts to life by supervising an art exhibition happened last Febuary in the school lobby. As a requirement for
Philippine Contemporary Arts and Culture subject, the exhibit was made possible through the Antequeranhong
Kabilin, Atong Bahandi institute(AKABI) and Antequera Programs for Arts and Culture(APAC) groups divided into
different committees namely; Academic, Logo making and Promotion. The arts displayed were made by the students
to display remarkable showcase of talents and contests were also done through the help of the subject teacher, Mrs.
Gina M. Pergamino. The winners of the contests were; grade- 10 for mosaic, grade-11 for assemblage, grade 8 for
poster making and zig saw puzzle assembing and grade 7 for clay modelling. The art exhibit was culminated through
the awarding of medals to the winners and giving of certificates to the participants of the said contests. After all, CKA
students and teachers were confronted with a very high challenge that is to preserve Philippine arts and culture.
CKA crowns King and Queen of Hearts 2018 On February 10, 2018, CKA held its King and Queen of Hearts 2018
featuring the evolution of Pop music at the Antequera Covered Court. The CKA King and Queen of hearts 2018 is
King Allen Joshua Almonical from the Grade 7 St. Louis and Queen Mary Grace O. Junaldo from the Grade 11- St.
Michael. The said event was divided into two parts. Part one was the royal court assembly after which the Princes
and Princesses were given trophies and sashes by their respective parents, class advisers and some visitors. The
former king and queen of Hearts did their farewell walk followed by the crowning ceremony, the giving of the scepter
and trophies to the King and Queen of Hearts 2018 by their class advisers. Part one ended with a serenade, royal
march and dance in which the royal court participated. Part two was the offerings in which selected students and
faculty members showcased their talents in singing and dancing using the pop music. This year’s proceeds are for
Exercises and 3rd Junior High School Completion Ceremony at the Holy Rosary Parish of
Antequera, Bohol with the theme “Holiness: The ultimate goal of Catholic Education.” In order
to celebrate the success of the students brought about by their patience and perseverance
The first part of the program was the Eucharistic celebration, presided by the main
celebrant, Rev. Fr. Crisilio J. Alipoyo, the BACS Diocesan Superintendent, concelebrated by Rev.
Fr. Linuel C. Cañizares, the School Director, and Rev. Fr. Richard D. Pongase, the Parish Vicar,
wherein the blessing of the certificated, medals and ribbons of the graduates and completers
took place. The second part of the program was the graduation rites. The welcome address of
Jessica R. Jumamil, a JHS completer top 1, marked the opening of the rites. The School principal,
Mrs. Marcela L. Somabong presented the 63 JHS completers and 65 SHS graduates who were
accepted and confirmed by Rev. Fr. Alipoyo. The awarding and giving of certificates of
completion, medals and other special awards to the outstanding JHS Completers and SHS
Graduates by Rev. Fr. Alipoyo, assisted by Mr. Emeterio C. Javinez, Jr., BACS Academic Focal
Person, the school principal, and the school director followed. Next, it was SHS Graduate top 1,
Rogelio S. Renoblas, Jr.‘s time to deliver his message of gratitude. The capping ceremony led by
Mr. Javinez immediately succeeded, followed by the tassel transfer by the school director, the
distribution of diplomas by the BACS Diocesan Superintendent and the School Principal,
Pledge of Loyalty by Batch 2018 President, Rogelio S. Renoblas, Jr. and the Alumni Pledge by
the Vice-President of the CKA Alumni Association, Hon. Cecilia R. Salomon. The graduation
song was sung by the Graduates of S.Y. 2017-2018 served as the finale of the program.
