Course Description:
This course aims to help would-be teachers make their classes come to alive by the full and appropriate use of educational technologies in their
experiential, constructivist and integrative teaching approaches. It includes traditional and new technology, as well, with emphasis on the former.

a. Have the basic higher level literacy, communication, critical thinking, learning skills needed for higher learning.
b. Have deep and principled understanding of the learning processes and the role of the teacher in facilitating these processes in
their students.
c. have a deep and principled understanding of how educational processes relate to larger historical, social, cultural and political
processes.
d. Have a meaningful and comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter they will teach.
e. Can apply wide range of teaching process skills (including curriculum development, lesson planning, materials development,
educational assessment, and teaching approaches.
f. Have direct experience in the field/ classroom (eg. Classroom observation, teaching professions);
g. Can demonstrate and practice the professional and ethical requirements of the teaching professions.
h. Can facilitate learning diverse types of learners, in diverse types of learning environments, using a wide range of teaching
knowledge and skills.
i. Can reflect on the relationships among the teaching process skills, the learning processing in the students, the nature of the
contect/subject matter, and the broader social forces encumbering the school and educational processes in order to constantly
improve their teaching knowledge skills and practices.

1. Understand what Educational Technology is.
2. Differentiate Educational Technology from Technology in education.
3. State the relationship of educational technology, instructional technology and technology
integration to one another.
4. Evaluate if Technology is a BOON or a BANE.
5. Understand the ROLE of Educational Technology in LEARNING.
6. Evaluate the Systematic OR System’s Approach to teaching and its elements.
7. Evaluate Dale’s Cone of Experience. Identify the sensory aids in the Cone of Experience and its
implications in teaching.
8. Know the procedures and criteria to be observed in planning and conducting field trips.
9. Understand the power of FILM, VIDEO and TV and its integration in the instructional process.
10. Demonstrate Teaching with VISUAL SYMBOLS.
11. Maximize the use of OHP and CHALKBOARD.
12. Apply Project-based Learning and Multimedia as a Teaching-learning strategy.
13. Understand the role and function of EMC.
