2018-Present Maker Education Manager Children’s Museum of Houston

2012-2018 Program Specialist, Career and Technical Education Houston Independent School District
 Ran the Career Ready Wagon mobile lab, where students from elementary to middle could explore the ins and
outs of careers in fields including STEM, robotics, flight, medicine, manufacturing, and more. In the last 5 years
I have personally interacted with over 30,000 students from 99 different elementary schools in HISD, guiding
them through the Career Ready Wagon mobile lab.
 Created the Career Ready Wagon program from the ground up. This involved:
o conceptualizing and assembling the various activity stations and exhibits;
o writing curriculum for student interaction in the exhibits, for grades Pre-K through 6th;
o utilizing workforce data from the Gulf Coast area to guide the focus of our activity stations;
o constantly reviewing and updating exhibits on the bus to provide the best possible experience for the
students, based on direct feedback and observations of students interacting with the stations;
o working directly with business partners to garner sponsorship for various aspects of the program;
 Provided administrative support to career and technical education teachers in several HISD high schools, in
courses such as STEM, robotics, information technology, arts a/v, and more. This involved curriculum support,
materials purchasing, and helping campuses make course programming decisions.
 Hosted and facilitated professional development trainings for teachers of career and technical education
courses, particularly the robotics and STEM teachers.
 Programmed, operated, and maintained several NAO robots for robotics programs in the district.
 Worked with a team to organize and host two annual events: the annual When I Grow Up Expo, a career fair
that has drawn thousands of visitors year after year, and Job Alike, a two day professional development
opportunity for the districts 300+ career and technical education teachers.

2007-2011 Private Music Teacher Writers in the Round/Self-Employed (Houston, TX)

Taught private lessons to people of all ages and all skill levels on guitar, banjo, ukulele and bass.

2007 Historic Tall Ship Maintenance Galveston Historical Foundation (Galveston, TX)
Performed various jobs pertaining to the maintenance of the tall-ship Ellissa to keep it in working, aesthetically
appealing and historically authentic condition.
Duties included: rust busting, polishing, painting, tarring, and cleaning.

2007 Music Camp Counselor Writers in the Round (Houston, TX)

Taught kids from 4-15 years of age how to play songs on various instruments. Put together weekly concerts, took
phone calls, and greeted parents on pick up and drop off.
