Introduction

Financial Derivatives has become an

emerging specialization course of MBA
Finance students in almost all business
schools in India. Though this is a sought
after course it is a relatively young discipline
and not many finance students are exposed
to the basics of this complex subject and
also not trained up to meet the industry
needs. The jargon and the quantitative
applications involved are demanding that
self learning by student is rather difficult
and discouraging the students to opt finance as specialization. Hence this workshop is designed
to provide basic understanding of this complex subject and practical skills of learning this course.
It also trains the students to take up certificate examination on derivative modules from
BSE/NSE. The workshop also provides practical training on how to trade on different derivative
instruments.
This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of Financial Derivative markets and
derivative trading in India.

Pedagogy
The workshop uses traditional techniques, lectures, worked examples and real case studies,
showing in detail how the products are used and why. The course has been designed to show
the products in a highly practical way, without over-complication, with clear illustrations of each
so that participants may easily understand them and practice the same.
