Introduction
In the midst of illiteracy, poverty and unavailability of schools in our country, the Philippine
State College of Aeronautics - Villamor Air Base (PHILSCA VAB) is able to provide
sufficient amount of education and theoretical studies which helps the young prospects
for the future of our country's aviation industry.
Philippine State College of Aeronautics - Villamor Air Base (PHILSCA) is one of the
unique colleges among the state universities and colleges in the country that grants free
tuition fee program, produces highly competent students, motivated fresh graduates and
the leading producer of Aeronautical Engineering topnotchers.
Every educational institution should give priority to the needs of the of the students’
efficient learning and comfort. The school facilities and supportive environment help the
students develop their skills, focus and knowledge on their academic subjects. The
construction of the Philippine State College of Aeronautics Auditorium just like in
University of the Philippines Mindanao College of Architecture Auditorium will give the
students opportunity to execute the non-curricular activities such as recognition,
graduation of CWTS and ROTC, theater arts performances, battle of the bands, thesis
defense and it may also serve as venue for conferences and seminars.
The purpose of this study is to innovate the construction of Auditorium inside the
Philippine State College of Aeronautics. The researchers chose this proposal topic to
develop a plan and to maximize the capabilities of Philippine State College of Aeronautics
to cater the students and guests through accommodation of curricular and non-curricular
activities at the auditorium.
Background of the Study
There are many instances that the non-curricular activities are held inside the
Philippine State College of Aeronautics Covered Court. The students won’t be able to
concentrate on their tasks and academic activities inside their classrooms because of the
disturbing voices chanting and loud speakers playing inside and sometimes during the
execution of events there are instances that the weather does not agree to the plan. Such
phenomenon will cause a lot of hassles and disturbances. While it is proven during many
times in the past, the covered court is not suitable to all types of curricular or non-curricular
events.
This is why our group formulated this research to maximize and integrate the
available spaces inside the Philippine State College of Aeronautics – Villamor Air Base.
The University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP) College of Architecture also had the
same case. There’s a huge empty space filled with grasses behind their college building
inside the campus but the school thought of a brilliant idea. The University of the
Philippines College of Architecture constructed an auditorium for their students with an
Islamic architectural design with a capacity of 413 seats in the main theater to be used
primarily for events such as conferences, thesis presentations, graduation ceremonies,
etc.
We, six (6) BSAMT students from the Philippine State College of Aeronautics
Villamor Campus of Institute of Engineering and Technology believe that we can build our
own comfortable, standard and compact Auditorium with the help of our government for
the students of Philippine State College of Aeronautics to have a great comfort to cater
and handle events for our curricular and non-curricular events.
This study was designed to propose the construction of auditorium inside the Philippine
State College of Aeronautics specifically, it answers the following questions:
1.1 Age
1.2 Course of the students
1.3 Educational attainment (for faculty)
1.4 Employment status (for faculty)
1.5 Gender
1.6 Year level
Hypothesis
As to the null hypothesis “there is no significant difference between the perception of the
respondents on the proposal of the construction of an auditorium in Philippine State
College of Aeronautics - VAB Campus.
Significance of the Study
To the College, and the Philippine State College of Aeronautics - VAB Campus, the
findings of which will help in its benefits of having an auditorium inside the PhilSCA - VAB
Campus premises.
To the School Administration, this study could give basis to implement immediate action
for the improvement and/or upgrading of PhilSCA - VAB Campus where the school can
effectively launch school activities being made.
To our Fellow students in PhilSCA - VAB Campus, the researchers would like to share
with our fellow PhilSCA students our efforts to improve and innovate VAB Campus for
having an auditorium to have a good and comfortable grounds to launch activities.
To the Local Government, to review and consider the proposal to allocate budget to
improve the facilities of PhilSCA to establish an auditorium for the campus. This will also
become an output for the government showing their continued support in patronizing their
advocacy to ensure and promote quality education for the less privileged.
To the Future Researchers, this study will serve as an initial step to succeeding
researches of the same object in the future.
The scope of this research was the construction of an Auditorium inside Philippine
State College of Aeronautics, Villamor Airbase Pasay City (PHILSCA) main campus to
the faculty and selected students of the PHILSCA. The research will be limited to selected
students who are officially enrolled and faculty who are permanently employed in the
institution. The result of the study may only be true only based on the selected
respondents.
Conceptual Framework
The figure below shows the input, process and output model. The input consists
of independent and dependent variables. The independent variables are the profile of the
respondents and perception of respondents regarding the proposal. This will be
determined by the respondents through their age, course and year level for students and
educational attainment and employment status of faculty members and how they will
perceive the proposal of the researchers.
For independent variables, we consider the provision of design of the auditorium. This will
consist of several factors such: as area and dimension of the auditorium; air conditioning
system; sound system; seating capacity, safety measures, electric wirings, and budget
for constructing auditorium.
Lastly, following the input and process, comes the results and output of this study
which is the Construction of Auditorium.

causal (cause/effect) relationships and to study the relationship between one variable
and another. This is a traditional type of research that is quantitative in nature. In short,
researchers use experimental research to compare two or more groups on one or more
measures. In these designs, one variable is manipulated to see if it has an effect on the
other variable. Experimental designs are used in this way to answer hypotheses. A
specific question. The researcher designs an experimental study which will then support
