LESSON PLAN FORMAT

Ready, Set, Action!

4.1.6 identify and use pronouns appropriately according to

ii) demonstrative

Topic : Pronouns (possessive)

General The objective of the lesson is to be able to use the possessive pronouns
Objectives correctly.

Learning At the end of the lesson, students should be able to:


Outcomes 1. Differentiate on how to use each possessive pronoun correctly.

2. Use possessive pronoun correctly in describing their own


things or friends’ things.

3. Write 5 sentences using possessive pronouns.

Prior Students have learned the following items in previous classes:


Knowledge 1. Pronouns in general

1. Large empty box


Instructional 2. Empty bingo sheets
Aids 3. Pronouns chart

1. Teacher to start the lesson by reviewing the possessive


pronouns learnt in the previous lessons.

2. Teacher to ask students questions: Which pronouns are used


to show possession? Are they used with nouns or in place of
nouns?

3. Encourage the students if they give correct answers. Give


feedback to them if they give incorrect answers.
Set Induction
4. Repeat that possessive pronouns my, your, our, their, her, come
before a noun. Write a few examples on the board for the
students understanding. ( this book is yours. That school is
ours.. these pictures are hers, etc )

5. Write on the board. This book is your / yours. The doll is my /


mine.

6. Ask children to choose the correct possessive pronouns.

1. Teacher to provide a large empty mystery box. Students to
each put something they own into the box such as a pen,
eraser, key, drawing etc.

2. Teacher then have students take turns to pull something out


from the bag.

3. Teacher use possessive pronouns to ask question or make


statements, ie: Whose book is this? It’s not mine. It’s hers!

4. Teacher ask students to try out making sentence using


possessive pronoun by themselves.

5. Teacher discusses the activity with the whole class.

1. Teacher tells students that they are going to play “Pronoun

2. Teacher explains how the game is played. (appendix 2).

3. Students will write a pronoun in each square on their bingo


sheets. (They may use the chart on the board for assistance.)

4. Teacher to read a sentence aloud and have students listen for


the pronoun in that sentence and mark it on their sheet.
(Appendix 4)

5. Once a student fills a whole line they will yell “Pronoun!”

1. From the pronoun bingo game, students write five sentences


using possessive pronouns.
2. Teacher selects students at random to read the sentences
aloud to the whole class.
