1. Report Text
a. Definisi Report Text
Report text adalah suatu jenis teks yang mengupas suatu hasil pengamatan, penelitian, observasi,
atau studi tentang benda, binatang, orang, atau suatu tempat. Adapaun fungsi atau tujuan
dari report text itu sendiri adalah untuk menggambarkan objek apa adanya.

b. Contoh Text Report

Mobile Phone

A mobile phone (also known as a wireless phone, or cellular telephone) is a very small
portable radio telephone.
The mobile phone can be used to communicate over long distances without wires. It works
by communicating with a nearby base station (also called a "cell site") which connects it to
the main phone network. As the mobile phone moves around, if the mobile phone gets too
far away from the cell it is connected to, that cell sends a message to another cell to tell the
new cell to take over the call. This is called a "hand off," and the call continues with the new
cell the phone is connected to. The hand-off is done so well and carefully that the user will
usually never even know that the call was transferred to another cell.
As mobile phones became more popular, they began to cost less money, and more people
could afford them. Monthly plans became available for rates as low as US$30 or US$40 a
month. Cell phones have become so cheap to own that they have mostly replaced pay
phones and phone booths except for urban areas with many people.

a. Definisi Descriptive text.
Descriptive text adalah suatu jenis teks yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan
orang, binatang, tempat ataupun suatu benda. Umumnya, yang dideskripsikan adalah bentuk, ciri,
ataupun sifatnya.

My Mother

My mother is a beautiful person. She is not tall but not short, and she has curly hair and
brown. Her eyes color are like honey and her color skin color light brown, and she has a
beautiful smile. Her weight likes 120 lbs.
She is a very kind person. She is very lovely, friendly, patient, and she loves to help people. I
love my mom, because she is a good example to me. She loves being in the Church, and she
loves sing and dance too.
She is a very good child, wife and mother. She always takes care of her family. She likes her
house to be clean and organized. She a very organized person, and all things in the house
are in the right place. She doesn’t like messes.
She always has a smile on her face. She is so sweet and lovely. I like when I am going to
sleep or went I wake up or when I am going to go to some places, she always give me a kiss,
and when the family have a problem she always be with us to helps us and to give us all her
love.
3. Procedure text
a. Defenisi Procedure text
Pengertian Procedure text adalah sebuah teks yang memberikan kita perintah atau instruksi untuk
melakukan sesuatu. Procedure text adalah teks yang dirancang untuk menggambarkan bagaimana
sesuatu dicapai melalui urutan tindakan atau langkah-langkah. Jadi dapat disimpulkan
disini, procedure text adalah jenis text yang bertujuan untuk menggambarkan suatu perintah atau
instruksi tentang bagaimana sesuatu dicapai sesuai urutan atau langkah-langkah yang benar.

b. Contoh text procedure

How To Use Camera
You need :
 A digital camera (DSLR camera or pocket camera or the others camera that you have)
 The object (find something that interesting to you like animals, buildings or the others)
Steps :
 handle the camera and turn on it
 center the object in the LCD and manage the zoom control untill you get the best view
 when you are ready to take the picture, hold the shutter speed, and various other
calculations.
 Then, a light should appear that let you know the camera is set to go.
 After that, press shutter all the way down.

4. Recount Text
a. Defenisi Recount Text
Recount Text adalah salah satu jenis text dalam bahasa Inggris yang menceritakan kembali
tentang kejadian-kejadian atau pengalaman-pengalaman di masa lampau. Tujuan dari Recount
Text adalah untuk memberikan informasi atau untuk menghibur pembaca sehingga tidak
terdapat konflik.

Orientation
Last year holiday of Lebaran I went to Surabaya visiting my grandmother and grandfather. I had to go
there because the previous holiday I wasn’t there.
Event
I missed them so much because I lived with them when I was a child. At that time both of my parents
had to go to another city to earn money so they left me with my grandma and grandpa.
After graduated from junior high school, I follow my parents living at Jakarta. Since that, I had visited
them only at holiday time.
Unfortunately, I didn’t have any ticket of either train and plane so that I went to Surabaya by bus. It
was so tiring because the traffic was too crowded and stagnant.
Normally, the trip needs around 24-28 hours but my trip at that time took 40 hours from Jakarta to
Surabaya. That made me mad.
Reorientation
The madness and tiredness during the trip had gone after I met my grandma and grandpa. They
were looked old. I was so happy knowing them in healthy condition.

News item text adalah suatu teks yang menginformasikan pembaca tentang peristiwa/kejadian
sehari-hari yang layak diberitakan atau penting. Newsworthy yang berati layak untuk diberitakan,
jadi tidak semua kejadian/peristiwa bisa diberitakan. Hanya kejadian atau peristiwa penting saja
yang layak diberitakan. Jika peristiwa/kejadian itu tidak penting maka tidak layak untuk diberitakan
dan diketahui banyak orang.

Minister expects MXGP 2017 to boost tourism

Jakarta (JP) – Indonesia is expected to earn US$5 million in foreign exchange and US$3.74
million from domestic visitors from the international sport series event MXGP 2017 in
Pangkal Pinang, Bangka-Belitung province, on March 4th and 5th.
Indonesia is the third selected country in Asia, after Qatar and Thailand, to host this MXGP
sport event. The event was introduced in 1957 and was sanctioned by international
motorsport federation, the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). In this event,
dozens of motocross racers from 20 countries will compete in motocross races.
“The event, which will be covered by 62 foreign TV broadcasters, is also expected to help
promote tourism sites in the region,” said Tourism Minister Arief Yahya. About 5,000
foreigners are expected to attend the event hosted for the first time by Indonesia, with each
person spending an average of $1,000 while staying in the country, he said. “We also expect
over 50,000 Indonesians to attend the event,” Arief said on Monday during a press
conference at the ministry’s office in Jakarta, adding that each Indonesian was projected to
